Snowpitch tourney was a blast
A total of 17 teams competed in this. year's Snowpitch' Tournament at
Agriculture Park Saturday and while the temperature was on 'the cool side:

discouraging industries We feel the im-
post fees act as a prohibitive factor in at-
tracting industry. The. town, has
deliberately. not imposed impost fees„ for
commercial or industrial developments.,"

to everybody: residential, commercial
. and industrial, each pay, their own rates.
If industries don't pay, then .residential
and commercial developers are subsidiz-
ing -the industries," PUC manager Evert
Middel said.

Liberal association meeting ply fled
CLINTON - The Huron Provincial Liberal
Riding” Association has set March 5 as the
date for -their nomination meeting at the
Clinton Legion at 8 p.m, ,
The •riding is a new electoral district
created when redistribution -was .approved
last July. It will see the Ontario Legislature
expand from 125 to 130 sejts. .
Currently, Huron County is split into two
seats, Huron -Bruce .in the north, which is
represented by Health Minister Murray

. last week's meeting to a request from PUC
manager Evert Middel to send one ad-
ministrative staff member to. a training
course to "be held this spring in Toronto.
The cou se, Clerical and Sales Training -
Phase Lis designed for ail office staff. It
encompasses a wide 'range of topics 'from
general f ri,fical training, to public rela-
tions techniques and general knowledge

which is now represented by Agriculture
and Food Minister Jack Riddell.

provincial election is called. 'At this time,
the Liberals rule Ontario with a minority .
government, with the 125 seat Legislature
made up of 51 Liberals, 51 Progressive Con-
servatives and 23 New Democratic Party
MPPs.
So far, only Jack Riddell has said he will
attend course
needed in a utility office.
The two-day workshop is scheduled for
Toronto on April 23-24. Such a workshop is
held every six months. The fall worshop
will be Phase, 2 of Clerical and Sales
Training. .
