Area curlers participate in Maitland bonspiel
The ladies of the Maitland Country Club
hosted a ladies bonspiel on February 4 with
48 women participating in an action -packed
day.
There were two draws at 9 and 11 a.m.
The winners of the first draw and overall
winners of the two draws was the rink skip-
ped by Laprie Pacquette with vice Bernice
Moore, second Karen McKinnon and lead
Betty Moore. Second place went to . the
Ripley rink skipped by Diane Brooks with
vice Hilda Andrew, .second Pat Vandehogan
and lead Mira Walden. Third place went to
the other Goderich team of Faye Ribey,
Karen Kirk, Joan Hibbert and Betty
McPhee. Ppizes were also given to the other
teams from Exeter, Belmore and Seaforth.
Winners of the second draw were; placing
first, Audry Triebner's rink from Vanastra,.
with vice Faye MacKay, second Trudy Hill
and lead.Mary Hayward. Second place went
to Nancy McKinnin's rink from Goderich,
with vice Doreen Garrow, second Lexi
O'Neil and lead Holly Douherty. Third
place went to Lynn Edward with vice Vicki
•Culbert, second Cathy Murdock and lead
Phylis Fisher. Prizes were also given to
other teams in this event from, Wingham,
Kincardine and Vanastra.
The event was sponsored by Anstett
,Jewellers in Goderich, Sheaffer Pen Com-
pany, , Reick Pharmacy, Edward Fuels,
Faye Ribey, Culbert Insulation and

Minor hockey gets $400 grant from township

its ice costs are subsidized. Ice is rented at
an hourly rate of $50 while minor hockey is
charged $39. Minor hockey uses 30 hods pf
icetime per week.

Stin had 233 and 673. Jake Martel bowled
248 & 658. while Rob Wilson had 255 & 638.
