Joe Snider- of: Goderich served on the board of directors of Camp !ilcnesetung, the summer camp of the United Church located on .the Lake Huron shoreline just north of Goderich. Snider, now 91 years of age, began baord duties in 1950 and served as - treasurer from 1954 to 1986. Members of•the board honored Snider's service with the presen- tation of a commemorative plaque that will hang in the camps dining hall, a facility he was responsible for building. ( photo by Dave Sykes) The annual meeting of the Maple Leaf Chapter FODE was held on Tuesday, February 3 at the home of Mrs. K. Anderson. Mrs. H.J. Murphy recapped the Chapter's activities in an interesting comprehensive report, highlighting the C'hapter's 85th an- niversary year in Goderich. All committees enjoyed a busy and productive year under the leadership of Regent, Mrs. ('. Boddy, enablinf the Chapter to contribute generous- ly on natiohal, provincial and local levels. The Opportunity Shop on East Street con- tinues to be the Chapter's main source of revenue. However, several s.uccessful Ways and Means projects added significantly to Chapter funds in 1986. Mrs. A,A, Garland presented the follow- ing slate of officers for 1987: Past Regent -, Mrs. R.I,. McDonald; Regent - Mrs. C. Bod- dy; 1st vice-president - Mrs. P. Strickland; secretary - Mrs. H.J. Murphy ; assistant secretary - Mrs. B.M.Koss; treasurer - Mrs. R.B. Todgham; education secretary - Mrs. C: Knight; services secretary - Mrs. R.C. McCallum; citizenship' secretary - Mrs. J. Schaeffer; membership secretary - Mrs. A.A. Garland; echoes secretary - Mrs. R. McGee; standard bearer - Mrs. W. Stan - bury; and public relations secretary - Mrs. R.J. Nephew. Accepting the gavel for another year, Mrs. C. Boddy thanked all Chapter members for their unfailing support and ex- pressed, her confidence that 1987 would be.
