BIRTHDAY CLUB
Hi there!
My name is Caylan Haist. 1 live in Clinton
with my Daddy and Mommy, Gary and
Shelley (McPhee) Haist. Mommy and Dad-
dy say I'm a real sweetheart because 1 was
born on Valentine's Day. We're having a big
party at our house on February 14 to
celebrate my first birthday. Mommy says
We're having lasagna (yuck!) I like mashed
potatoes .best of all.

Wilburn Salter dies at
FRANCIS WILBURN SALTER (a
Francis Wilburn Salter of Goderich died
at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital
on 'Tuesday, February 3 at the age of 85.
Born in East Wawanosh Township on June
7, 1901, he was the son of the late William
George Salter and the • former Frances
Eastwood,Cooper., He married the former
Beatrice May Hunter of Winghain on
November 9, 1927. at The Rectory in Blyth.
Surviving besides his wife, is one son,
• Jack and .his wife Barbara of '189 St. David.
Street in Goderich; one sister, Mrs. Edith
Hutton of Wingham; granddaughter Debra
and her husband 'Tudor Wain and great-
„ granddaughter Ruthann,' all' of Goderich
Township. '
. Mr. Salter was predeceased by one sister,
Marietta Deacon and one ,brother, Russell'
Cooper Salter.
Funeral and committal services- were
held Thursday, February. 5 at the McCallum
'and Palla Funeral Horne with Rev. Aubrey
Hell of the Anglican•Church officiating.

LAWRENCE PAUL HARTUNG
Mr. Lawrence Paul Hartwig, of 'Ord Or -
Chard in Montreal, Quebec, died at. the
Royal Victoria Hospital in Montreal en Mon-
day, February 2. He was 33 -years -Old.
Born in Timmins on :January 5, 1954, he
was the son ,of Lawrence Hartung of Toronto
• and Joyce 'Anna a Gervais I Drybrough of
Naniamo, B.C.
Surviving besides, his, parents ate one
brother, Carl of 'Calgary; and two sisters,
I,inila Kukulski of Vancouver, B.C., and
Christine C6leman of Goderich. ' ...
He was predeceased by one sister, Brenda
Hartung.
Cremation took place in Montreal. A.
Memorial Service was held at St. Mary's
C'hape'l of St. 'Peter's Church in Goderich on
Friday, February 6 with Fr. Joseph Hardy
of St. Peter's officiating. Interment in St.
Peter's Cemetery. •

HORST WiLLI'A1M FR,1NZ KOHNERT
Mr.' Horst William Franz Kohnert of
Ridgewood Park, RR a Goderich, died at his
• residence on Saturday, February 7 at the
age of 59.
He was born on August' 6, 1927 in Berlin,
East Germany.
Surviving are his wife, the former Tina
Smits; four children, Raymond of British
Columbia, Zena ( Mrs. Jim (.'ole )�of British
Columbia:. and Peter and Leonard both at
Gilbert and Sullivan

17 celebration' of Gilbert and Sullivan that
will include an international symposium,
performances .at locations throughout
Toronto. -
Highlighting the activity will be • perfor-
mances of "Utopia Limited•' on May 6, 7, 8,
and 9 at the Edward Johnson'Theatre, daily
noon -hour events at Nathan Phillips Square
throughout ,'Gilbert & Sullivan Week", and
-Utopia '87 '. a weekend international sym-
posium from May 15 to 17.

ELIZABETH AGNES PLUNKET
Elizabeth Agnes Plunkett, .of Auburn
district, passed away in Clinton Public
Hospital on Thursday; January 15 in her
89th year. .•
Born in Kintail, Ashfield Township, on.Oc-
Itober 22, 1898, she was .the daughter of the
- late James and Luanda (Twamley) Dren-
nan. She attended S.S. 10 school nd on
August 31, 1921 she married, Wilfred
Plunket. They farmed in the Auburn district
for a number of years. She was a member of
Auburn United Church.
She is survived by three sons, Gordon,
Alvin and his wife, Jewell, and Donald, as
well as several grandchildren, one sister,
Mrs. Violet Raynard of Goderich, and two
sisters-in-law; Janet Drennan and Grace
Campbell,, both of London.
She was predeceased by her husband and
one brother Wilfred Drennan.
• Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth was in
charge of the funeral service conducted by
Rev. Shuttleworth of Auburn. Interment will
be in Balls Cemetery:
FLORENCE
• Florence Louise Bridle, of Meneset
Park, RR 5 Goderich, died Thursday Feb.
5, at' the age of 76, at the Public General
Hospital, Chatham.
Mrs. Bridle and her husband Fred A.
Bridal, who predeceased her in 1986, lived
in Dresden for 12' years, prior to moving to
Goderich.
She is survived by her daughter' Helen
and son-in-law Stan Jarvis, of Dresden;
one son Robert Bridal and his wife
Georgette, of Wallsingham; five grand-
children,. Mark, Patricia, Catherine, Nan-
cy and Scott and one brother Archie
Hamilton and his wife Doris, of Goderich.
A memorial service, followed by crema-
tion, was held at Thomas L. DeBurger
Funeral Home, 620 Cross Street, Dresden,
on Friday, Feb." 6, at 1:30 p.m. Reverend
Joe Campbell officiated.
' Donatins to the Canadian Diabetic
Association would be appreciated.

Ron and Gerda Burgsma are pleased to an-
nounce the safe arrival of their baby girl,
,Jillian Grace on February 4, 1987, weighing
8 lbs. 2 ozs. A little sister for Harrison. Pro-
ud grandparents are Harry and Gerda
' Burgsma of Goderich and Duke and4Henny-
Buffinga of Blyth. A very special thanks to
'Dr. Hollingworth and the nurses on 2nd floor
of Goderich Hospital.
