manning errands becomes business for
Goderich area resident Anna Dalton
More often than not, people think of er-
rands as being a nuisance. But, for Anna
Dalton doing errands has turned into a
business.
Dalton, of RR 2 Goderich, is creator and
operator of Errands Made Easy, an errand
service available to Goderich and Huron
County residents. She began the service in
January.
-It'sa convenience service which pro-
vides grocery shopping, ride •!te-appoirtt-
rnents, house Sitting, gift shopping"'and gift
wrapping, and picking up dry cleaning. Ac-
tually, any sort of thing like ,that," Dalton.
explained.
She noted that in rnany larger cities, ser-
vices such as hers are commonplace. And,
although Goderich is a small town, she felt
that there was a need for an errand service
for people throughout Huron County.
"The service is for those people who don't
like to go out during• bad weather, for those
people who. can't get out or haven't got
transportation, and for, people who are just
to busy," she said.
•The idea of an errand service. came to
mind when she noted that the senior popula-
tion in Goderich was relatively high and that
many alder people find it difficult to get out,
especially during the wiriter. She also felt
that offering such a service would attract
dual -income families.. q'
Aside from realizing the potential os such
a business, Dalton said the service enables
her to meet interesting people.
"I get to do a lot of fun things and meet in-
teresting people. I enjoy -that more. than
,anything because I like, working with other
people."
Having your grocery shopping done or
getting a ride to a doctor's appointment is
just a'phone call away.
••All anyone has -to do is call and leave a
message on the answering service al'though
I'rn usually home between 5-7 p.m." Dalton
said. •
For. such things as grocery shopping, the
customer gives Dalton the last of groceries
needed over the •phone.,

Grocery shopping is •just one of a number of errands that Anna Dalton of Errands Made
Easy is willing to_do for Goderich and Huron County residents. The business, which in -
eludes such things as house-sitting, providing rides to appointments, grocery shopping and '
gift buying, beganwperation in January. (photo by Lou -Ann Hope) •
"I want people to know that I'm not a taxi
service. I would rather do the errand myself
than pick the person .up 'and drive them
around to do their own errands,.' she
explained. •
If 'gift shopping is what you need help
with, Dalton is more than willing to spend,
the time and effort in finding that suitable
gift.
"Let's say you needed a• christening gift.
You would tell nee the price range you wish -
.ed to spend.. I would shop locally unless it
', was a special request. I would find some
gift ideas and corse back to you with the sug.
gestions before actually purchasing and
'wrapping the item," she explained.
So, if you are in the market for finding so-
meone who doesn't mind 'running• !base
short, but time-consuming errands, contact
Anna Dalton at 524-7455.
