The Section 63 Reassessment Program is designed to equalize assessments within property classes, based on 1984 market value. Assessment staff will be pleased to explain the basis of your property assessment and Mailing of • Assessment Notices 1986 Assessment Notices will be mailed to all property owners and tenants. The assessed value shown on your Notice will be used for the calculation of your 19$7 munici- par and.school taxes. A full explanation of the Section" 63 Reassessment Pro- gram, appeal procedures and a timetable for Open Houses in your area can be found on the information inserts which accorrl- pany your new Assessment Notice. Open House Sessions Will Answer Questions Open House sessions have been plannedat convenient times and locations in your municipality to . afford you the opportunity to review your assessment with staff of the Regional Assessment Office. are authorized to amend all data (school support, assessment, etc.) on your Notice. You are encouraged to take advantage of this service. .oils Available For Review The Assessment Roll will be available for review at your local municipal office during regular business hours, beginning February 27, 1987. • If You Wish To Appeal If you believe you have been improperly assessed in any way, you may file a formal complaint with the Assessment Review Board. The au- dience then sang a medley of Scottish songs and Francis Schram closed the eveings pro- gram with a couple of toe -tapping tunes on the violin. The MacKay Centre welcomed in the new year with a New Years Eve Party at the Centre. January proved to be a busy month, with our afternoon movie/pot luck and bingo plus our regular programs.. The Happy Gang Dancers met every Wednesday -where an afternoon of fun and dancing was enjoyed by all, its a great way to have fun, meet new ftiends and exercise, as are our keep fit classes. Russell Alton chaired the annual meeting and welcomed everyone. The Annual Report was discussed and accepted. Rev. Russell Alton presented the gavel to Beatrice Sparling, the new President of MacKay Centre. Beatrice thanked Russell and expressed her. pleasure -in accepting the office of President.
