plans for a well-earned pleasant retirement,
an .enthusiastic younger generation often
eagerly anticipates phasing into the existing
business.: .
Although' the life cycle of .a ;farm business
often parallels that' of the operators, each
'family situation .is' unique. Major' factors
contributing to those 'differences include

A •Family Transfer and •Business
Organization Workshop will be held on Tues,
day, Feb. 10 at the Goderich Township Hall.
Registration will be at 9:30 a.m., with the
program commencing at 10:00 am and con-
cluding at 3:30 p.m. Participants are asked
to bring their lunch and 'refreshments will
he supplied. OMAF Farm Business Advisor
Art Lawson, London;' Ralph Winslade,
Vineland; and Huron OMAF Farm Manage-
ment staff will lead discussions: .
Morning topics include all the latest on
retirement planning and RRSP's, taxation
on sale of farm assets, social and business
considerations of family members working
together and taxation, • on transfer to
children.
Information awareness about wills, fami-
ly law, use 'of BFAP in family trahsfers,
business analysis and information about
partnerships and corporations will he
highlighted during the afternoon.'. There is
still some accommodation for more par-
ticipants. Anyone: with an interest is invited

1-800-265-5170 as soon as possible.
Farm Business Advisor, Ralph Winstade,
has agreed to he available°the following day,
Feb. 11 at the Agricultural Office, Clinton to •
meet withlocal OMAF staff representatives
and farm families wishing more specific in-
depth information about transferring family
farms.

The Huron County Federation of
Agriculture invites farm families to'tegister
. for February and March courses.
Registration will take place atrthe Clinton
Public School on Monday, Feb. 9 starting at
7:30 p.m. Location and time of courses will
depend on registrations. A nominal fee will
apply to each course.
Farm Machinery Maintenance • — for
farmers and operators of farm equipment —
discussion and demonstration of routine
repairs for tractors, planting, tilling and
harvesting equipment..
Introductory Financial Management —
farm- bookkeeping including records,
balance sheet, accrual, income statement,
cash flow and farm plan.
Advanced Financial Management — in-
depth coverage of financial planning, farm
analysis, credit and risk. Depending on
desires of participants, other topics may be
inctded.
Public Speaking — practice in speech
preparation and delivery including increas-
ed understanding , of voice, gestures and
microphone usage. Y,
Coping with Changing Times -- a series of
seminars for farm families on communica-
tion skills including time management,
listening skills, motivation, personal goal
