Dear Editor:
As I hear people already talk about sum-
mer vacation plans; I wonder how many
peuple are making plans to come here for a
week or two, for fun in the sun?
We boast about our town being the pret-
tiest town in Canada, but we forget to add
it's also one of the most boring. '
If you lived elsewhere would you pack up
the family and spend your vacation in
Goderich? Oh, there's the lighthouse, the
. old jail and the museum – but what would
you do with the rest of the ,week'.'
We dearly would love more of those
tourist dollars, but what do we offer the
tourist? •
A friend who works as a waitress told me
that if she is 1u(•ky enough to have a family

vacation centre but it would be nice if they
would stay for a day or two or three. I'm
sure there's some that do, but they.certain-
ly won't go away exhausted from all the
excitement.
What wo.uld be wrong with a water slide

Dear Editor:
Listerfi'ng to the news this week '– and
there it was -- our health ministry con-
sidering the opening up of 10 abortion
clinics in the province, and this to be con-
nected to 10 local hospitals.
Is that not shocking news? At least to us
as a•Christian community? Are we honest-
ly going that far now with our morals that
under the cover of "Human •Rights': -'we
will start killing our future generation in
mass form.
What has gone into. our minds that gives
even our provincial government the right
to encourage and financially support such
an undertaking? And I mean the "rights"
because our present. law does not cover
this so called Human Rights and does not
foresee the protection of the rights in the
existance of any such clinics. It only
speaks to the right to abortion if the life of
the mother -to -be is in severe danger.
And are there not loud -speaking ex-
amples of nations who became careless
and indifferent as to the abouts of the life –
future of the next generation to be.?
Think, for a moment with me about the
policies of the French in Europe about 50
years ago. The propagation of neo-
Maltusianism, advising parents to
definitely have no more than one or. two
children. And what became of the nation.
one generation later? It fell to the edge of
poverty, because there was not enough
population to handle the 'industrial and
agricultural economics.
Don't We see those dangers round about
us rising in our nation?
tavern or a nightclub and how about
moonlight boat rides for honeymooners, or
married couples who are in love and like to
be romantic? And, a cozy little bar where
you sip your drink and watch the sun go
down.
We don't have to be wild and crazy but
let's be interesting, let's be alive. This is
1987.
And while we're updating, let's en-
courage some more industry – with free
land, or five to 10 years no taxes. If
anything should happen to the two existing
places of employment our be tourist at-
traction would read "Come see the pret-
tiest ghost town in Canada!"
Yours truly

of clinics
And those dangers do not stop by the
troublesome teen-age pregnancies. The
pressures increase even more with the
availability of abortion clinics – killing by
the thousands and thousands.
It makes me weary, for the fact is, most
mothers -to -be after going through with the
- abortion, regret and feel- sorry they ever
did it. •
e8 the weight of this fact have not
ever thing to do with the one fact which no
one can rule out; that we are all created in
God's image, as the bible tells us? And,
that He gives life from the begining of
pregnancy. And, that it is our weighing du-
ty, all of us,, to'keep our hands off and pro-
tect life in all sincerety.
