St. Christopher's Beach was converted to an Approved Park under the Act in 1980. To date, grants in the amount of $85,000 have been authorized to assist the town with the planning and development of the park. The latest grant brings that total to $100;000 in grants, an amount which the town. has matched in their development of the park, bring the total spent at the beach since 1980 to $200,000. The town is proposing to undertake fur- ther improvements during 1986 at a total estimated cost of $30,000. The program will consist of the following: installation of a' children's playground, $20,000; hydro ser- vicing, $2,000; construction and installa- tion of a lifeguard stand, $2,000; landscap- ing $3,000; miscellaneous, $3,000. There will be a Committee of Adjustment meeting on Wednesday, January 28 at 7 p.m. in the town council chambers.
