Ruth Robertson of RR 5 Goderich, and
Christoper Woolf, son of Lionel and Jean
Woolf of London, England, were united in
marriage on December 12, 1986 in Goderich.
A family reception was held at the Maitland
Country Club. Mr. and Mrs. Woolf are
residing in Stratford where they own and
operate a restaurant called Woolfy's.

1 McAllister dies
EARL McALLISTER
Earl McAllister of London, formerly of
Goderich, died at St. Marys,Hospital in Lon-
don on January 23 at the age of 71 years.
He is survived by his wife Willa
(Pickard); two sons, Ronald of Egmond-
ville and Dennis of Sarnia; one daughter,
Joanne Camillari of St. Thomas; and seven
grandchildren. Also surviving are two
brothers, Alvin of Peterborough and Eric of
London, and three sisters, Jean (Mrs. Ben
Feagan) of Goderich Township, Evelyn
(Mrs. Carl Sowerby) and Maxine (Mrs.
Cecil Pollock) both of Goderich.
He, was predeceased by one brother
Mervin.
Funeral services were held on January 26
at Memorial Funeral Home in London.
Interment in Mount Pleasant Cemetery,
London.
` CLARENCE A. TED TROTT
Funeral services were held at St. Joseph's
Roman Catholic Church in Clinton on
January 24 for Clarence A. (Ted) Trott of
Clinton.
The 77 -year-old Clintonian died at Clinton
Public Hospital on January 22.
Mr. Trott was born in Seaforth on October
8, 1909. He was the son of the late William
Trott and Emma Wright.
Mr. ' Trott attended Seaforth public and
high schools, and then attended the ,Strat-
ford Normal Schoot to become a teacher.
Upon graduation, he returned to Seaforth

where he taught at SS No 3 in Stanley
Township, and then at Egmondville Public
School.
On July 9, 1941 he was Married to the
former Muriel Looby in London.
In 1950 the Trotts moved from Seaforth to
Clinton as Mr. Trott became the first prin-
cipal at the Air Vice Marshall Hugh Camp-
bell Public School at the RCAF Station at
Clinton. He held that position 1,intil 1968 when
he retired.
Along with his wife, Mr. Trott is survived
by one daughter,. Ann and her husband
David Nesbitt, and by two grandchildren,
Katherine and Peter Nesbitt.
He was predeceased by one sister and one
brother.
Mr. Trott's brother-in-law, Rev. A.R. Lob-
by CSB officated at the January 24 funeral
'service. He was assisted by Rev. John Pluta
of St. Joseph's Church.
Pallbearers were Mr. Trott's six nephews,
Thomas Goettler, Stephen Goettler, Louis'
Looby, John Looby, Joseph Looby and Nick
Ionata.
Interment took place at the St. Patrick's
Cemetery in Dublin and the Ball and
Falconer Funeral Home in Clinton was in
charge of the funeral arrangements.

Dennis and Joanne. ( nee Bode) Drennan of
Clinton, are pleased to announce the safe ar-
rival of their first child, Philip,Matthew, on
Friday, January 16, 1987; at St. Joseph's
Hospital, London. Although three weeks
early he weighed 7 lbs. 6 ozs. Proud first
time grandparents are Don and Thelma
Bode • of Seaforth and Doug. and Thelma
Drennan of Kincardine. First great grand-
child for Mabel Zurbrigg• of Listowel and
18th greatgrandchild for Isobel Drennan of
Kincardine.

1987, at St. Joseph's Hospital, London,
weighing in at 8 lbs". 13 ozs. Proud parents

grandparents are Mr. and Mrs. Lorne

non UM conducts Bible study
• On Tuesday afternoon Jan. 20 the Dungan-.
• non UCW held their first meeting of the year
• in the church.basement. The meeting open-
• ed with. a reading of the Motto of the United .`
• Church Women in. unison. A "New Years
, Prayer" was read by Jean Errington.
Helen Dawson conducted the Bible study
and questionnaire on family life. Answers
were found in the Bible, and a discussion
followed. In conclusien• she read "In
Defence of the Family." A skit' "Bloom
Where You Are" was enacted by four ladies.
The skit helped members understand that it
is their Christian calling to teach Christian
values to their families and children.
Jean Errington presided for the business
part of the 'meeting. Minutes •of the
December meeting where read and approv-
ed. The,financial statement for 1986 and
treasurer report was given by Helen
Dawson. There was a letter explaining how
the mission money was spent. The dusk to

dawn light was installed in December.
Members agreed to use their mission boxes
again this year. In March the group will
make some crib quilts.
To commemorate the 25th anniversary of
the UCW organization, the hostes8es 'Jean
Errington and Helen Dawson served a cake
for dessert. A Oicture was taken as a
remembrance of the event. Grace was sung, .
and after cake and ice cream, a social time
followed.
Arthur Circle invites WMS members to meeting
Joyce Garrick, of the Arthur Circle Aux-
iliary, began the club's meeting held Jan.
19 with a New. Year's poem, followed by
prayer:
• Vice-ppesident Pat White read Psalm I
and Joycd Thorne gave a devotional reading
by Amy Bolding on I Timothy chapter 1. A
• creed for the new year was read by Winnie
Walters.
Secretary Joyce Thorne read the minutes
and Treasurer Hazel McCreath gave her
report. .
It was decided the pot -luck supper
(meeting) would be held Feb. 16, when Rev.
G.L. Royal is to be guest speaker. 'Also the
WMS would be asked to join the group in
May.
Corresponding secretary Dorothy Blake
read several thank -you letters and the
members were urged to send cards to
members who are 111 and shut-ins. The
President reminded the group that
Synodical is April 21 at , Listowel and the
World Day of Prayer is March 6, at Trinity
Christian Reformed Church, Goderich.
Joyce advised the group that the study
material will be introduced shortly.
The group leaders for 1987 are Sandi
Davidson, Madeline Ritchie, Lee Mc-
Callum, Winnie Walters, Suzanne German,
and Betty Helesic.
North Street UCW makes donatiOn offering
A General Meeting of the United Church
Women of North Street Church was held on
Jan. 21 at 8:00 p.m. in the church sanctu.ary.
June Wallace conducted a thought-
• provoking worship service on the theme
"Time" and opened the meeting with a call
to worship. She was assisted by Winn Fer-
ris, who read the scripture lesson, and Fran
Armstrong who explained that the evening's
• special offering would be donated to the
Pueblito Canada organization. Alice•Anstay
and Maria Hohner received the offering.
Following' a momerit of silence in ,remem-
brance of Gladys Jefferson, Emily Corey,
Alberta Whiteley, Sadie Heath, Olive Pro -

ctor and Sheila Hogan, six members who
had passsed away in 1986, Shirley McMillan
played "BLESS THIS HOUSE" on the sax-
ophone, accompanied by the pianist for the
evening, Joan Henwood. June, Winn and
Fran gave a short meditation and June dos- •
ed the worship service with prayer.
Reverend Robert Ball then came forward
and conducted a Service of Installation for
the 1987 U.C.W. Executive. The executive
and the ifiembers were challenged •to go
forth to serve, teach, encourage, love and
respect others.
The senior executive members for 1987
are past president, Margaret Alton; presi-
dent, Christina Hoffmeyer; Nice -president,
Edith Walker; recording secretary, Shirley
McMillan; corresponding secretary, Jean
Hardy; and treasurer, Fran Armstrong. The
unit leaders for 1987 are Evening Unit, Winn,
Ferris; Afternoon Unit, Ruth Brock and
.Janet Kalbfleisch; and Clare McGowan
Unit, Pat Rivett.
At the close of the Installation Service the
ladies retired to the Sunday School area
where a short business meeting was held
with president Christina Hoffmeyer in the
chair. A time of fellowship followed over tea
and squares.
Goderich woman returns from Florida.
Kathleeen Glen, of Goderich and her
brother Fred Crawford, of Port -Albert,
retruned Jan. 20 from a week's holiday in
Kev West, Florida.
While . there, they visited with the
former's daughter, Mrs. Joan Ray, her
son-in-law Bill and 12 -year-old grandson
Cedric.
