On Friday, the GDCI Senior Vikings im-
proved their .unblemished record in league
play to 5-0 with an impressive 97-23 victory
over St. Marys Salukis here.
The outcome of the game was never in
doubt as the Vikes jumped to a 30-3 first F
quarter lead. Every Viking saw action, in-
cluding new addition Ray Bedard.
The leading scorers for the Vikings were
guards Todd Graham, 27 points, and Bob
Barwick, 19. Darryl Black dominated the
boards and scored 17 points. Dan Martin
and Mike Bush had 10 points, Baird Robin-
son, six and Juergen Schultz and Byron°
Bowman had four points apiece.
While the Vikings are undefeated in
Huron -Perth League play, the team met
with defeat twice on the weekend, losing
two exhibition games to AAA schools.
Windsor Lowe and Waterloo Collegiate
both defeated the Vikings with Lowe winn-
ing 63-56 and Waterloo, 73-46.
Against Lowe, Graham hooped 18 points
while Barwick chipped in with 14 and
Black 12. In the second game, Barwick and
Graham were the top scorers with 17 and g:
16 points respectively. The Vikings played
well at times but were unable to put,it all
together.
This week the .Vikings continue Huron -
Perth play with a home game -Thursday
against Clinton; On Tuesday they played in
Listowel.

ball tournament Saturday by defeating-.
Aylmer East Ellin in the championship
final, 46-29.
Cambridge Southwood won the consola-
- tion final, 53-36, over Parkhill' North
Middlesex.

game, 43-35, over North Middlesex. Sean
Wilson with 14 points and Jim Laithwaite
with 11, led the Vikings

y semi-final` to Aylmer East Elgin, 48-34. ,
Wilson again topped, the Viking scorers
with. 13 points.
St Clair reached the final by defeating
Strathroy 40-37 in the, other semi-final
game. •
Other teams competing were Stratford
'Northwestern and Lambton Central. •

Thursday mornings saw 51 • senior men
and women on the alleys for some. fun and
recreation. Mel Dickson bowleda super
game of 274 and tripled 657, Mike Foley was
close behind with 251 and 630° Irene. Sparks
led the ladies with a single of 217 while Max-
ine Callender had the triple of 563c'

boys' basketball action, 75-20, here Friday.
The outcome was never in doilbt and Vikings coach Myles Murdock used his bench
liberally. Ten Vikings got into the points column, led by Sean Wilson who hooped .20
points. Kevin Black, with 13 points, Ken Webb, with 11, and Craig Wark, with 16, were the
other Vikings to hit doµble figures.
Calvin Knight threw in six points, Meng Troeung added four and Bob Pellow hit for
three. Greg Alcock, Shawn Currie, and Jim Laithwaite each had two points for the
Vikings.
Tuesday, the Vikings played in Listowel and Thursday they play here against Central
Huron of Clinton. Friday they travel to Strathroy and Saturday they play in Sarnia.

On Sunday Jan. 11 the House Round of the
Hi -Low Doubles.was held at Little Bowl with
Joe Hackett and Gord Fisher, emerging as
winners at 151 pins over average. They now
advance to the Provincial Final in Orillia on
March 7. Second with, 101 `POA were Jim
Harrison and Hilda Popernitsch, third were
Bev Whetstone and Earleen Spain with 94
POA, fourth with 86 POA were Janet Rumig
and Brad Otterbein.
MONDAY MEN
The first game of the year for Rob Little
was his best game this season. Starting with
a spare he continued with a roll of 9 strikes
until the last 2 balls didn't connect and he
finished with a 401. Rob said "this 'was my
personal best ever and the fifty dollar award
is great."

The race for first place •is very close
after the first half of the season. The Happy
Gang . leads with 56 closely followed by
Newcomers Part2'with 55 giving hot pursuit
is Janet's Jokers - 52 and A & P - 51, Park
House -.45, Uno's - 40, The CE-DJ'S - 32 and
Scarios - 21. '
Starting off the new year as leaders of the
league the Happy Gang' was lead by Marj
Smith's 642 helping her team to five points

Fisher with a 623 and Bob Melick 630. For

Raymones have a good lead 'tvvith 73 but
Dave's Dudes - 61 and Dirty Danglers - 51
are trying to gain. Glossy Pinheads - 47, Lit-
tle bowl Vikings - 41 are Bob's Buddies - 14
follow and look to improve their placing.
Ray Swan rolled 257 and 298 while Jeff
Powell had 285.

178 is high for the girls. Jeff Powell 204 and
Julie Fisher - 160 are tops in the junior divi-
sion. Ryan Millian.carries 178 and Christina
Morley 149 for the bantams. Our bowlers of .
the month for December were Jason Penn-
ington, PeeWee, Aaron Cousins, Bantam,
Sherry Suplat, Junior, and Brad Fisher,
Senior.

'After the first half of the season the stan-
dings are Wolverines - 71, Polar Bears - 63,

Chipmunks - 48; Tigers - 47 and Wildcats - 44.

and 691, and Sharon Sanders, 237 and 614,
led Cobras to seven points against Sly foxes.
Polar Bears also succeeded in taking seven
points from Lions with 271 and 655 from
Joyce Hamilton, 241 and 587 from Doreen
Willis and 123 POA for Marg Swan. Kay,
Glen' had 210 for Lions. Marion Millar rolled
a 252 to help her Turtles to five points from
Wolverines in spite of Joanne Ducharme's
227 and 610. Barb Pigg and Yvonne
Dougherty both rolled 253 and Helena 205 to
take their Gophers to five points from Chip-
munks. Patti Johnston had 206 for Fonz.
TUESDAY MIXED
With only four points between the top four
teams it will be a real race to see who
finishes first in this. league. Leading the
pack are„ Tricky Six - 64, followed closely by
G.,M.C.'s - 63, Barb's Gang - 61; "Bell's
Angels -- 60, 6 PAC - 54, Frame Ups - 53,
Underdogs - 52, Bowled Eagles - 49,

Barb's Gang started off the year'with
some exceptional games by Sonny Moore,
325 and 251 and Mari Moore, 280 and 264..
Rob Riehl rolled 336 and 753 and Francis
Merkley came up with two games of 274.
THURSDAY MEN'S MAJOR
Bruinsma-Bombers with 69 lead but the ,
other teams are slowing 'trying to catch

MONDAY NIGHT LADIES LEAGUE
The Oldtimers started the new year in fine
form by taking seven points .from the '
Blazers. Leading the way was Melba Maiilet
259 and Nancy White, 228, 265, 273, 'and 766
triple. The Blazers took no points but had
high games from June Rourke 173, and 174
and Joyce Hamilton 210.
The Marionettes took five points from the
Wallbangers with good games rolled by Kit
Smith 188, Ett Bradley 183, Alice Mero 160,
. 198 ,and Marion Beacom 213, 243, 220; 676 tri-
ple. The,Wallbangers fought back for two
points and were led by Marj. Poulter 156,
Helen Lewis '185, Trish Deighton 188, ,191
and Sandy Fielder 270.
The New -Gals were on a roll as they took
five points from the league leaders, Barb's
Bunnies. Team effort with high games from •
