Anyone walking, into the Goderich
Sailors dressing room following their OHA
Junior 'C' hockey game here Friday night
would probably havethought the Sailors
had just defeated the Hanover Barons. The .
players were excited, the coaches were
happy and the executive members were
smiling.
.No, the Sailors did not defeat the Barons.
In fact, they lost 8-4 to the powerful
Hanover, team, but the good' effort the
Sailors ut up made the result almost as
satisfying a win for the last -place Sailors.
In the three previous meetings of the two .
teams this season, the Barons have ad-
ministered 14-4, 21-0 and 17-4 beatings on.
the Sailors, but Friday the Sailors were in

and 2-1 in the first period and the score was
tied 3-3 after the first twenty minutes. The
Barons got two unanswered goals in the se-
cond period to take a 5-3 lead into the final
period. They scored ° again .early in the

it 6-4 before two .more ,late goals by
Hanover ended the scoring.
Jim Beattie had a super game for the
Sailors, scoring the .hat -trick. Scott Stokes
opened the scoring for the Sailors, moving
in from his defence sport at the blueline to
finish off a power play effort with line:
