opponents, came, out slashing and hitting
from behind. The worst part about.. it,
though, was they got away withit.
This initially did not stop the Goderich
team from opening the scoring as Andre
Cauchi scored an unassisted goal. Early in
the second period Cauchi put Goderich'
ahead by two with his second goal with Greg
• Alcock assisting. ,
The stickwork of the Essex players went
undetected but any retaliatory action by the
Goderich-team seemed-to-cat'eh-the:of-
ficials' eye as the penalties began to mount.
- Playing shorthanded a team can't hope Cp
win games and this proved to be the case as
Essex came back to tie the game 2-2 by the
end of the middle session.
The rash of penalties continued in the
third period, many of them occurring after
missed calls by the officials which only
• frustrated -the -local -team even -further.
This resulted in six power play goals by
Essex in die third period to pull awax, with
the victory, Shawn Talbot picked- up the
third and final Goderich goal' with Mike
Stegenstad assisting.

outplayed the unbeaten Stonetown boys but

Yaremchuk never uses his wingers,
and if he could shoot hit the net, he'd
•improve:,McGill is a -goon, but when he's
on, he'd not bad. Gill is young and im-
proving, and patience -is definitely need-
ed for him to iinpro\e. Ihnacak seems to
still be in a daze when he plays. Once he
learns some discipline, he'll be OK too.
His brother Pete is another story.
Miroslav Frycer and Brad Smith are in
the D category. Frycer has been- .hurt,..
but when he does play, he floats and com-
plains to everybody that h1e;s just in a
slump. Maybe -.when -he -returns; hell
smarten trp•and help the team instead of
hurting it. As for Smith, well, he gets a D •
• only because the fans love him He skates
like a runaWay train with his stick flail-
ing away and he can't shoot his way out
• of a Wet paper bag.
Plus Don Cherry also loves him, so he
can't be that great a hockey player.
