The Colborne Township Recreation Com- mittee held a card party on Thursday, December 18. It , oniU enced with a pot -luck dinner at 6:30 p.m. with a good crowd atten- ding. After the dinner, all enjoyed an even- ing of cards with winners being Millie Johnston (ladies high score ), Clarence Allin (mens high score ), Adeline Allirl rladies low score) and Alfred Etzler i mens low score) . The next card party will be held Thursday, January 8. Congratulations to Mr. and Mrs. Bruce Brindley ( nee Debbie Buchanan ), formerly of Colborne, on the birth of a baby girl, Laura Jean, born December 23. • Sincere sympathy is extended to "the' relatives of the late Mrs. Alice Buchanon (Clark) Hunt of Louisville, Kentucky, a former Colborne Township resident, who passed away on Monday, December 15. A funeral service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Horne on December 20 with interment in Colborne Cemetery. -Mr. and Mrs.. R. Mrs. Flume Clutton's son from Burlington visited his mother • during the Holiday season as did her children in Colborne and Goderich. Mrs. Worthy Fowler held 'Christmas in her home with guests for Christmas being her sots Mr. and Mrs. Donald' Fowler and family from Georgetwon and her daughter Mr. and Mrs. Lyle Brown and son Travis of Goderich. For New Years guests. were Mr. and Mrs. Asif Hassan and family of Oakville and Loraine and Mitchell Anderson from near Montreal who are spending a -few days visiting. Mr. and Mrs. Hugh MacCrostie spent Christmas Eve with their son, Mr. and Mrs. Dale MacCrostie and family in Kincardine and all spent Christmas Day at the home of Carol and Ronald MacCrostie in Lucknow. The call to worship and prayers, and the life and work of the church were given followed by the Lord's Prayer: "The Old Rugged Cross" was sung. Mr. Shuttleworth told the children's story, then they went to Sunday Schoo under the' direction of teachers Anita Gross, Ruth Armstrong and daughters Donna I,ynn and Lori. The minister's sermon was entitled "His Coming". . Offering was received by Murray Rollison and Ken .Ramsey.
