A Community News' Community Services Council to hold meeting .• The Huron County Comrnuriity Services Council will discuss the challenge of becom-, ing more active and forceful arid the subse- quent issue as to continuing in an informal supportive role or to incorporate will be discussed at the January 15 meeting of the Huron County Community Services Council held at 10 'a.m. at the OMAF office in Clinton An organizational meeting of what would. ecome the Huron County Special Needs ' Committee was held in March 1978, one- year after a workshop for social service agencies was held. This committee was to 'serve as a co- ordinating body with specific issues to be dealt with by Ad -Hoc sub -committees made up of interested agencies. At the October 1978 Special Needs CQM- mittee meeting, the group discussed becom- ing more formalized with wider roles .and activities and sub-conunittee was:formed. That subcommittee, suggested two alter- natives t meet a list of aims and objectives as identified by the Special Needs Commit- tee. The first alternative, the agency model would be based on co-operation and co- ordination of agencies in the conty and might resemble an expanded Special,Needs Corrunittee. The community ,model would be broader to include voluriteer, political and long-term planning personnel. The Huron County Community Services Council Came into being at the March 1979 meeting of the Special. Needs Committee under it's present structure and has func- tioned as such sihce that time. , The council provides, an organization representative' of 'all concerned agencies, erganizations and indiViduals interested in the provisions of social services .to Huron County.
