George Parsons
has not proved'profitable yet, because of a
corn -pricing discrepancy between Cana-

ding that the local elevators did not load a
single ocean boat during the previous
season because of the pricing problem.
"It's something.that will have to work
itself out," he said.
• Parsons explained that much of the On-
tario corn that can't be shipped overseas
has been "backing up." However. he add-
ed that the majority of it is put in use for
dry milling and distilling on the domestic
marleet.
The current free trade talks between
Canada and the United States, Parsons
said, will probably not have an immediate
effect on the Goderich Elevator
operations.
"Agricultural- products- have -really=not
-surfaced, as far as being a main issue in
these talks;" he said. "However, i really
wouldn't want to predict what long-range
effects there might. be if agricultural pro-
ducts became part of the push-pull of these-
talks."
