and that public school continuation

as follows, viz.'West Huron $545,
Exeter taking $300. Wingham $200
Hensall $25 and Reynold $15; the
$325 paid to the motet riding being, di-

House of Refuge.
The following are extracts fram
Inspector Torrance's report of the
House of Refuge tor the year ending -
Nov. 30, 1904;
Dr. Shaw's report for the year
1904 shows 17 deaths, the largest
number in any year since the open-
ing of the institution. Thislar
number of deaths he attributes in
part to the exceedingly cold weather
the year through which considerab-
ly affected the aged inmates. Of
th e17 one reached 100 years, one 88,
one 87. one 86, and one each 85, 83,
81, 80, 79, two 78, two 77, and one
each 76, 75, 70 end 67. Two deaths
were caused by pneumonia and in-
sanity, three by cancer of the stom-
ach, three by old age, two by apo-
plexy, two by consumption and three
by other diseases.
The Council then ,adjourned.
