Rev. R.W. Johnson officiated at the double ring ceremony. Maid of honor was Michelle Dickson, Port Albert, friend of the bride. Bridesmaids were Anita Hallam, RR 1, Auburn, cousin of the bride; Deborah Mar- shall, Sarnia; Jane Carter, Orillia; and Nancy Lee, Barrie; friends of the bride. Best man was Richard Moore, Goderich, friend of the groom. Ushers were William Rogers, Orillia, brother of the groom; Brent Fisher, Goderich; John Robertson, London; Greg Kirkconnell Clinton; all friends of the groom. Organist was Lorne H. Dotterer with Betty Rogers, mother of the groom, as soloist. Betty sang The Wedding Song preceding the processional and Sunrise Sunset, during the signing of the register. The couple were driven by limousine to their dinner reception at The Livery, catered by the Bedford Hotel. Mark Crawford, brother of the bride, acted as master of ceremonies. Following a reception held at Saltford Valley Hall, the couple left for their honey- moon in Jamaica. The couple will reside in Barrie, where Jamie is employed as Pro- duction manager for DecNiques of Canada, Orillia and Carrie is Manager of Ricki's, Newmarket, Ontario. Special guests at the wedding were Mr. and Mrs. John Barron of Inverness, Scotland, aunt and uncle of the groom. (Mac Campbell Photography) Bell -Wilder On December 5, Susan Bell of RR2 Goderich and Jerry Wilder of RR1 Zurich were married in St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Clinton. Father Pluta officiated. The bride is the daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Bell of RR2 Goderich and the groom is the son of Mr. and Mrs. Lionel Wilder of RR1 Zurich. The maid of honor was Evelyn Bell of Edmonton, and the bridesmaids were Lee Ann Bozinet of Joliette, Quebec, and Sylvia Snale of RR1 Zurich. The junior bridesmaid was Kathleen Bell-Bazinet of Joliette, Quebec. The best man was Lionel Wilder Jr. of Varna, brother of the groom, and the groomsmen were Jeff Wering of Kippen, and Walter Vermount of Zurich. The ushers were Scott Bell of RR2 Goderich and Cecil Regier of Zurich. A reception was held at the Hensall Community Centre. Following a honeymoon in the Bahamas, the couple will reside at RR2 Zurich. (Frank Phillips photo) Sorority holds Christmas meeting CLINTON - The Zeta Omega Chapter of the Beta Sigma Phi Sorority held their Christmas party at the home of Marion Durst on December 8. A dinner was served by Joyce Cook and enjoyed by all members. Afterwards, a game called paper charades was played and Christmas gifts were exchanged between secret sisters. The ticket draw for a night at the Kildonan Inn and facial, pedicure and manicure by Karen's Aesthetics was made and winners were: first prize, Heather Bradley and se- cond prize, Marie Gougoulias. Congratulations to winners and thanks to all who bought tickets. Proceeds go to the treasury of the sorority for donations to various community projects. The next meeting will be January 12 at Leslye Glover's home. Monday euchre results CLINTON - Monday afternoon euchre was held at the town hall on December 14 with Esther Moffat and Clark Stanley with the high hands and Grace Evans and Gladys Telford with the lone hands. He was 86. Mr. Boven was born on July 1, 1901 in Winschoten, Holland to the late Gerrit and Grietji (Fleurke) Boven. On May 2, 1929 he was married to Hen- drika J. (Kassies) Boven. They came to Canada when Mr. Boven was 57. They farm- ed in Walton and Winthrop until 1973, when they retired to Clinton. A member of of the Clinton Christian Reformed Church, Mr. Boven and his wife spent the last few years in the Holland Christian Homes in Brampton. He is survived by his wife, and 12 children; Betsie and Piet Boonstra of Holland, Gerrit and Nel Boven of Seaforth, Riet and Roger Hurdlik of Chicago, John and Femmy Boven of Holland, Kinie and Bernie Kolkman of Goderich, Ineke and Chris Knetsch of Toronto, Albert and Helen Boven of Walton, Corrie and Kurt Stryker of Seaforth, Fred and Greta Boven of Kingston, Carl and Shirley Boven of Kingston, and Alie Boven of Holland. He is also survived by many grand- children and great-grandchildren. On December 8 a memorial service was held for Mr. Boven in Brampton. Friends were received at the Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton. Funeral services were held on December 11 at the Christian Reformed Church of Clinton, with Rev. Homer Samplonius officiating. Pallbearers were Peter Boven, David Boven, Jonathon Knetsch, Dan Stryker, Carl Boven and Michael Boven. James Moody McMichael James Moody McMichael of Clinton died at his residence on December 7. He was 69. Mr. McMichael was born of September 2, 1918 in West Branch, New Brunswick to the late James Cochrane Moody and Margaret (Currie) McMichael. He married Luverne (Medaugh) McMichael in Brantford on January 28, 1944. Mr. McMichael joined the service in 1939, and saw active • service in WWII in the RCAF. Upon the end of the war he remained in the service, and over his years of service was stationed at various stations across Canada and overseas. He was transferred to Clinton in 1962. In 1968 he retired as a warrant officer and from 1969 to 1982 he served as a commis- sionaire with Hall Lamp in Centralia and in the Bendix plants in Hensall. In 1968 Mr. McMichael and his wife moved into Clinton, where they resided until his death. Mr. McMichael is survived by his wife, and two sisters; Mrs. Earle (Nellie) Meekins of Philadelphia and Mrs. William (Bessie) Robertson of West Branch, New Brunswick. He is also survived by two brothers; Currie MacMichael of Rexton, New Brunswick, and Gilbert MacMichael of Richibucto, New Brunswick. He was prdeceased by one sister, Mrs. George (Meeta) Olton. Funeral services were held on December 10 at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. William Barber officiating. The honorary pallbearers were Roy Ellison, James Boyle, Thomas Cleve, Donald Duff, Eli Galachiuk and Robert Speir. BRANDON ROBERT JAMES YOUNG Brandon Robert James Young, infant son of Robert and Heather (Jewell) Young, died at Alexandra Marine and General Hospital on Wednesday, Dec. 9. Surviving besides his parents are one sister, Jana, at home; grandparents Robert and Enid Jewell of Colborne Township and Lorrine Young of Goderich; his great- grandmother Mrs. Elma Young of Goderich and aunts and uncle Mary and Fred Bellow and Janice Young, all of Goderich. A private family service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral Home with Rev. Bruce Tombs of Victoria Street United Church officiating. Interment Maitland Cemetery. PEARL ARABELL BUSHELL Arabell Bushell of 160 Cherryhill Pl, Lon- don, formerly of Lucknow, died in Lakeland, Florida on December 2, 1987, at the age of 77. Mrs. Bushell, a retired telephone operator, was a member of the United Church, Rebekah Lodge - Glenco Branch and associate member of the Clinton Branch. Born in Lucknow on May 6, 1910, she was a daughter of the late Roderick John Cameron and Sarah Essie Janet Fluker. Six grandchildren and 20 great grandchildren also survive. As well as her parents, Mrs. Bushell was predeceased by her husband, Nelson E. Bushell, and two brothers Ken and Stewart Cameron. MacKenzie and McCreath Funeral Home were in charge of the funeral arrangements. The Rebekah Lodge held a service at the funeral home on Sunday evening. Funeral services were conducted by Rev. Gerald McFarlane of the Lucknow United Church on Monday, December 7 at 2 p.m. Flower bearers were Jennifer, Ray- mond, Cathy, and John S. Dalton, family of Clete and Mary Louise Dalton.
