Golden Radars hold dinner
CLINTON (- The annual banquet for the
Golden Ra r Club was held at Ontario
Street Chur recreation hall on December
8.
Backgro piano music was played by
Elmer Tric as the guests were arriving. At
6 p.m. the ad table guests were escorted
to their se by Wat Webster with his
mouth orgalmusic. Fifty guests were serv-
ed a turkey dinner by the UCW ladies. On
behalf of theclub, a vote of thanks was ex-
tended to the ladies by Marjorie Caldwell.
The Chrinas Story was read by Ruby
Webster. MtFtel Jones gave a reading entitl-
ed Do We Hied Christmas?
Presiden Godkin then presented a
past-presid ts' pin to Minlue Rumball in
recognition: Df her two years' service as
leader of ° club.
A presea ation, Christmas Customs in
Other Lan was Finn by aiw ladies, each
representing a different country.
Minlue Rumball introduced the guest
speaker, Rev. Greg Gilson, rector of St.
Paul's Anglican Church. His theme was
How do you wish to be remembered? Leila
Johnston expressed thanks to Rev. Gilson on
behalf of the club and presented him with a
gift of appreciation.
Tickets were then drawn for door prizes
and the six names drawn were: Roberta
Plumsteel, Vera Gibbings, Mary Puffer,
Ruby Webster, Joe Boland and Lloyd
Stewart.
With Eleanor Fisher as pianist, everyone
joined in singing Christmas carols.
Progressive euchre was played. The win-
ners of high prizes were Verna Glazier and
Ed Deeves, of low prizes Elizabeth Medd
and Marjorie Steep and of lone hands Reta
Wright.
Brucefield euchre winners
IRUCEFIELD - In the ladies' division
,-luring Brutefield euchre, Marjorie Broad -
foot had tie high hands and Marjorie
Caldwell wls the lone hand winner. Grace
White had tie low hands.
In the men's category, Bill Caldwell was
the high winner while Reva Wilson was the
lone hand winner. Ernie Brown was the low
hand winner.
Prizes went to Bill Taylor and Reta Baird.
Summerhill euchre results
SUMMEEHILL - The hall board here held
their secone euchre party with the following
results: lades' high, Helen Hoggart; ladies'
low, Viols: Howse; ladies' lone, Jan
Whalen; nun's high, Bill Jenkins; men's
low, Earl Blake and men's lone, George
Wright.
Three draws were conducted with the
