In the third period Shawn Chipchase con- tinued his scoring prowess with two more goals to give him four for the night. On his first goal Scott Wright drew the assist and on his second one of the period Jason Carter and Jason Boughen had assists. Now, after 10 games this season, the Pee Wee's record stood at six wins, two losses and two ties. Clinton 5 - Milverton 2 In Milverton on December 1, the Clinton Pee Wees downed the host team 5-2. The teams traded goals in the first period with Kyle Baillie scoring for Milverton, but Shawn Chipchase pulled Clinton even as scored on set up from Scott Jewitt and Jason Carter. Clinton scored three unanswered goals in the second stanza to open up a 4-1 lead. Scott McClenaghan's wrist shot from the right face-off circle shot Clinton into the lead. Rob Consitt and Chris Kennedy earn- ed assists on the goal at 9:24. About two minutes later Shawn Chip - chase's second goal of the game on a booming slap -shot from the slot area in- creased Clinton's lead to two goals. The play started when Scott Jewitt broke away down the ice and he fed an excellent pass to Chipchase for the blast. With 55 seconds left in the period Jason Carter's solo effort down the left side gave the visitors another goal. In the third period the teams traded Say.... Clinton 6 - Seaforth 1 In Clinton on December 3 the Clinton Pee Wees current winning steak reached skx games as they outscored Seaforth 6-I. David Nahrgang, playing in the Clinton net, played an outstanding game as he came up with some spectacular saves. He lost his bid for a shut out with six minutes left in the game as Steve Papple beat him. Shawn Chipchase, the Pee Wees leading scorer, once again paced the team to vic- tory as he notched his third hat trick of the season. Chipchase now has 21 goals for the season. He also collected two assists. Chipchase's linemate, Chris Kennedy, collected two goals and he also played a strong game for Clinton. Lee Gibbings ad- ded the other Clinton marker. Picking up one assist each for Clinton were Shane MacDonald, Rob Consitt, Tyler McGregor, Scott McClenaghan and Jason Carter. The Clinton defence of Scott Rathwell, Scott Wright, Scott Jewitt, Shane Mac- Donald and Tyler McGregor played a strong game. There is a lot of action at Blyth Public School over the lunch hour these days as four teams are competing in an ongoing volleyball tournament. The Anstett Mixed Curling Spiel was most successful with a delicious, bountiful beef dinner prepared and served by Hilda Veenstra, Vera Miller and their helpers. After a great day Nancy and David Anstett presented Bob Allan, Trudy Hill, Jerry Uniac and Barb Luck with beautiful watches for the top place in the first draw and Harold Smith, Mary Smith, Bob Munn and Marlene Munn top place winners in the second draw. In the first draw Jeff Hietkamp skipped the second place rink, Bob Hayter the third place rink and Jack McLachlan the fourth place rink. Ken Rogerson skipped the•win- ners of the consolation rink. In the second draw, Bill Lobb skipped the second place team, Bert Barker the third place team, and Geo Picot the fourth place rink. Consolation winners were skip- ped by Murray Forbes. Bob Allan and Gordon Daer were win- ners of the 50/50 draws. Great co-operation! Cash Spiel Congratulations to Bill Gibson, Brian Falconer, Mark Cantelon, and Brad Falconer for capturing first prize in a two day Cash Spiel held in Wingharn the same weekend. Sixteen rinks participated in this great spiel and the winners returned home with $1,000. Great curling! The club was represented in the Ladies' Provincial Play Offs for Zone 13 in Goderich on November 30 and December with a rink shipped by Julie Falconer and members Judy Baskerville, Brenda Jar- rett and Carol Martin. Congratulations girls for your great curling skills! Home ice defeat forst for Atom A team The Mitchell Atom A Hockey team delivered the season's first home ice defeat to Clinton's Atom A squad on November 26. Superior checking and goaltending by Mitchell proved to be more than the local team could handle. A see -saw first and second period managed to stay in Clinton's favor, with the second closing with a 3-2 lead for Clinton. Third period play looked even brighter for Clinton as a fourth goal was tucked in and only 9:41 remained. But tides turn. Three unanswered Mitchell goals in the last five minutes of play left the Clinton team with a smarting defeat and some new objectives to be met before the next game. Goalscorers for Clinton were; Mike Hiltz, 3; Ryan Crawford, 1. Assisting were: Bryan Watson, two; Nate Bums, one; Scott Lobb, two; David Hiltz, one; Ben Lobb, one.
