November 30, 1987, Glenn Emmanuel Price of
Goderich and formerly of Goderich Twp.; in his
63rd year. Beloved husband of Mabel (Bloom-

Clinton. Loving grandfather of Christopher,
Derek and Michelle Hoggarth. Predeceased by

Pearl Arabell Bushell, wife of the late Nelson
Bushell passed away on Wednesday, December
2nd, 1987, in Lakeland Florida, in her 78th year.
The former Arabell Cameron of London and
formerly of Lucknow is survived by her daughter
Jean (Mrs. Robert Simpson) of Kintail, 6 grand-
children, and 20 great grandchildren and 2
sisters-in-law Mrs, Betty Wicks of Kenmore, New
York State, and Mrs. Mildred Cameron of
Lucknow, also 2 nieces and 2 nephews. Besides
her husband Nelson and parents Mr. and Mrs. R.
J. Cameron, she was predeceased by 2 brothers
Ken and Stewart Cameron. Rested at the
MacKenzie McCreath Funeral Home Lucknow, on
Sunday from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. Funeral service
was conducted Monday of 2 p.m. ftom the
funeral chapel. Interment South Kinloss
Cemetery, Lucknow.
JOHNSTON
Clarence Leonard (12th Army Tank Regiment and
Member of War Amps Canada) of Bayfield and
formerly of Kincardine, at the South Huron
Hospital Exeter, on Wednesday, December 2,
1987, in his 77th year. Beloved husband of the
former Elsie Markle; dear father of Frances (Mrs.
Glenn McGregor) of Clinton and dear grand-
father of Tyler and Tait: dear brother of Ken
Johnston, Helen MacKay and Grace Borland all
of Kincardine. Predeceased by 2 brothers Eddie
and Stewart Johnston and 2 sisters Margaret
McIntyre and Thelma Goodwin. Friends called of
the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, 757 Princes
Street, Kincardine on Friday, from 2-4 p.m. and

funeral home on Saturday at 2 p.m. Interment

and John Farrugia of Cambridge and loving
grandpa of Laura Farrugia and an uncle of a
number of nieces and nephews. Predeceased by
his sisters, Peril, Attie and Millie, brothers Roy
and Fred and his parents Fred and Martha (Keor
nick) Toll. Family received friends at the
Whitney-Ribey Funeral Home. 87 Goderich Street
West, Seaforth on Saturday, December 5 from
2.4 and 7.9 p.m. and where the funeral and corn-
mittal service was held on Sunday, December
6, 1987 at 2:30 p.m. Interment later Blyth Union
Cemetery Mr. George Cowan officiated.

John Brand earns scholarship
John Brand, son of Mr. and Mrs. John G.
Brand of Clinton, was one of two national
winners of the Jersey Canada Youth
Scholarship worth $250 presented at
Ridgetown College of Agriculture
Technology on November 25.
The scholarship is open to anyone across
Canada who has completed at least the first
year of either a two year diploma program
or four year degree program in agriculture.
According to Russell Gammon of the Cana-
dian Jersey Cattle Club in Guelph, Brand
was presented with the award because of his
community involvement, his involvement in
extracurricular activities at Ridgetown Col-
lege and his impressive contributions to the
Brand family dairy operation near Clinton.

Brand is an active member of the Swine A.I.
Association; of United Breeders Inc.,; of the
local and national Jersey Clubs and a
former 4-H Club member.
In addition to the Jersey Award, Brand
was presented with the runner-up award for
General Proficiency in Agricultural Produc-
tion and Management; a course award in
Field Crops; and the Duncan Galbraith Tui-
tion Scholarship. He was also the Top Stu-
dent from Huron County.
In total, Brand took home over $700 in
prizes .and scholarships from Ridgetown
College's awards night. He is currently
enrolled as a senior student in the College's
Agricultural Production and Management
Program.
