St. Paul's prepares for
the Christmas celebrations
By Elizabeth Kettlewell
CLINTON - Many out of town visitors join-
ed the congregation of St. Paul's Anglican
Church, Clinton, on Sunday, November 29 to
attend the service of the First Sunday in Ad-
vent, and to join in the celebration of Holy
Communion. Among the visitors welcomed
on Sunday were the parehts and grand-
parents of the rector, the Reverend Greg
Gilson.
During the "Children's Focus" Mr. Gilson
brought the children's attention to the
various changes in appearance of the
church at the time of Advent, when the color
"purple" becomes evident. The significance
of the Advent wreath was also discussed,
and the first candle was lit by Michelle
Shropshall.
Greeters and sidesmen at the service
were Eric Switzer and Bruce Bartliff.
Assisting Mr. Gilson during the service of
Holy Communion was Scott Wilson, a
member of St. Paul's Youth Group.
Following the service, a very pleasant cof-
fee and fellowship hour was hosted by the
Youth Group.
The congregation was reminded that the
annual White Gift Sunday will be on Sunday,
December 5. Gifts of food, toys, warm
clothing etc.; will be appreciated for

vited to attend. And do bring along friends to

Weckworth, now of London. On January 10,
1959, he married Eleanor McIntyre at Zion
United Church, St. Thomas.
In 1973, Mr. Connolly moved his family
from London to Clinton where he and his
brother, Keith of Bayfield, began Marcon
Ready Mix (which is now Hy -Test Ready
Mix) in Clinton.
In 1976 he felt a need for a change and
founded Tri -County Brick and Masonry Sup-
ply. Since that time, Mr. Connolly had wat-
ched and nurtured Tri -County to a network
of eight stores, servicing southwestern
Ontario.
Mr. Connolly is survived by three
daughters, Katrina and her husband Leslie
Adams of Monkton; Cynthia and her hus-
band Allen Hendrick of RR1 Dashwood and
Lorna and her husband Robert Daters of
RR1 Dashwood. He is also survived by three
grandchildren, Kevin and Stacey Adams
and Drew Hendrick, and his mother-in-law,
Mary Maclntyre of London.
Mr. Connolly also has three surviving
sisters. They are Lillian and her husband
John McBurney of London, Shirley Adams
of Calgary and Florence and her husband
Norm McKee of London; and four brothers,
Kenneth of Mississauga, Keith of Bayfield
and Beverly and Mervyn both of London. He
was also a good friend of William and Karen
Courtney of Varna.
Mr. Connolly was predeceased by his
father and his father-in-law, John
Maclntyre.
Mr. Connolly reached out and touched
many people. He seemed to always have a
minute for anyone who wanted it. As he
travelled the rocky road of life, he refused to
walk over or around any of the stones in his
way. He would always stop and look
underneath.
