Without the more than 45 volunteers, the Huron Day Centre for the
Homebound could not afford to operate. Recently the volunteers
were honored by staff members at the Clinton based centre. Those

dalton club plans poker rally

The Walton Area Sports Club held its
November meeting at the home of Ernie and
•Annette Lewington. It was discussed tickets
will be on sale for a 4 -wheeler to be drawn at
the Poker Rally, February 7 and ball
registration fees will be higher next year.
The next meeting is today, December 2 at
8 p.m. at the Walton Library. This is the an-
nual meeting, anyone in the community is
urged to attend.
VISITORS
Mr. and Mrs. Allan Campbell, Winthrop,
Mr. and Mrs. William Campbell, Seaforth
and Evelyn Holt, Wingham were dinner
guests Tuesday of last week with Ruth
Thamer.
Mary Humphries spent a few days this
past week with Mr. and Mrs. George Kruse
and baby son at Bayfield.
EUCHRE HELD
Thursday euchre sponsored by the Walton
Women's Institute had six tables in play.
Prizes were awarded to the winners by Mar-
jory Humphries. Margery Huether and
Maxine Marks assisted with lunch. The next
euchre will be held December 17 at 8 p.m.
CHURCH NEWS
The Sunday morning service at Duff's
United Church was the charge of Rev. Bon-
nie Lamble.
Communion was served by Ray Huether,
Graeme Craig, Barry Hoegy, Lavern
Godkin, Ken McDonald and Viola Kirkby.
In the coming events given out were the
U.C.W. special meeting this Wednesday
with a potluck meal at 6 p.m. All former
members are welcome. On December 6
there will be a Board meeting at Ron and
Betty McCallum's home. Next Sunday is
White Gift Service and Sunday, December
13 is the Sunday School Concert at 2 p.m.

Summerhill euchre results
SUMMERHILL - The Summerhill Hall
Board hosted their first euchre party of this
season on November 27 with the following
results: ladies' high - Alice Buchanan;
men's high - Vi Howse; ladies' lone hand -
Phylis Tyndall; men's lone hand - Ivan Hog-
gart; ladies' low - Gloria Westerhout and
men's low - Earl Blake.
Door prizes were won by Alex Westerhout,
Don Buchanan and Ivan Hoggart. The hall
board would like to thank everyone who
helped make this a successful evening and
also extend an invitation to attend the next
party on December 11 at 8 p.m.
