President Ida Godkin con- ducted opening exercises; Muriel Jones read the secretary's report and the financial report was read by Assistant -Treasurer Beatrice Welsh. Thirty-one members answered roll call by naming a favorite Christmas Carol. Mable McAdam had sent flowers to Violet Howes in the hospital, a sympathy card to Edith Anne Johnston and a get -well card to Willa Taylor. She also read several thank you notes. A recess was given for the members to buy their Christmas banquet tickets Those not present, please get their tickets from the treasurer as soon as possible. A donation of $25 was voted to be sent, to Town and Country Homemakers. in Wingham. The social comittee for the December 2 meeting will be Douglas and Dorothy Bezzo and Eleanor Fisher. The roll call is to be answered by a childhood Christmas memory. Happy birthday was sung to those members having birthdays in November. Beatrice Welsh and Mary Dale each gave two readings. Lights festival Ho! Ho! Ho! - Court House Park in Goderich will take on a special seasonal glow Friday evening, Nov. 27 when the Christmas lights are turned on to the ac- companiment of a Royal Canadian Naval Association cannon salute and a low level fireworks finale. The Christmas Lights Festival Opening Ceremony gets underway at 7 p.m. with the Goderich District Collegiate Institute, St. Mary's Separate School and Robertson Memorial Public School Choirs scheduled to perform. Santa will be present to greet the children and the winners of the Family Christmas Tree Decoration, Fancy Christmas Cookie and Gingerbread House Contests will be announced. The deadline for contest entries to be received at the Goderich Town Hall, 57 West Street, is 12:00 noon, Thursday, Nov. 26. For information contact the Goderich Tourism Office at 529-6600.
