the County Club. The new squash and workout club will feature two
squash courts, a variety of training machinery, a pro shop and a
lounge. The owners of the club, Ray and Mary Garon, expect to
have it open on January 1. Memberships will go on sale on
December 1. In this photo, a maple wood floor is being installed in
one of the courts. (David Emslie photo)

4-4 tie.

a hat trick performance by smooth -skating
Rob Consitt.
Clinton increased the score to 4-1 in the
second on a goal by Lee Gibbings assisted
by Mark Livermore and Scott Jewitt.
In the third period Mitchell battled back
with three unanswered goals to earn them
the tie.
Danny Wildfong and Shane MacDonald
each picked up two assists on the Consitt
goals. Mark King also earned an assist on
one of his goals.
Clinton 9 - Milverton 4
At Clinton on November 12, the Clinton
Pee Wees trimmed Milverton 9-4.
Paving the way to Clinton's third victory
of the season was hard-working
defenseman, Scott Rathwell, with two
goals and two assists.
Danny Wildfong and Scott Jewitt potted
two goals apiece. Picking up single

markers were Rob Consitt, Chris Kennedy
and Shaun Chipchase.
Mark Livermore picked up two assists in
the contest while Jason Boughen, Shaun
Chipchase, and Jason Carter added one
assist each.
Clinton 9 - Seaforth 3
At Seaforth November 21, the Clinton
Pee Wees continued their winning ways as
they rolled to a 9-3 thumping of Seaforth.
Clinton took a 3-0 lead early in the first
stanza as Rob Consitt scored the opening
goal at 2:16 on a set-up from Lee Gibbings.
Just 19 seconds later Jason Carter was
left unprotected in front of the Seaforth
goal and he made no mistake on a
beautiful three way passing play with
linemates Chris Kennedy and Shaun
Chipchase.
At 4:47 Consitt's second marker on a
scramble in front of the net made it 3-0.
The initial shot was taken from Mark
Livermore. Danny Wildfong also added an
assist.
At 11:27 and 11:50 goals by Seaforth's
Rob Van Den Hengolford and Steve Papple
made it 3-2, but Shaun Chipchase's goal
late in the first period, with assists from
Jason Carter and Chris Kennedy ended the
first period with Clinton leading 4-2.
In the second period Clinton outscored
Seaforth two to one to lead 6-3 after two. At
the 52 second mark Rob Consitt's slap shot
blast from fifty feet out eluded the glove of
the Seaforth goalie.
After Seaforth's Steven Papple's goal,
Clinton's Mark Livermore goal at 12:08
with an assist by Scott Jewitt, rounded out
the scoring after the second period.
In the third period Clinton scored three
unanswered goals by Scott Jewitt, Lee
Gibbings and Jason Carter. Jason
Boughen, who played a stellar game on the
Clinton blueline, picked up an assist on the
Gibbings' goal.
The Pee Wees next home game is this
Thursday night at 8:15. For exciting
hockey come to the arena and support your
local team. The visitors will be Mitchell
whom they tied 4-4 last time.
Record deer harvest recorded by MNR
Record Deer Harvest Reported
The Wingham District Office of the
Ministry of Natural Resources says close
to 350 deer were harvested during the re-
cent hunt, an increase of 20 per cent over
last year.
According to District Biologist Mike
Malhiot, "Recent mild winters have com-
bined with the ministry's harvest manage-
ment to result in a Huron County deer
population which is the highest in history".
He adds that the record harvest this year
will ensure a healthy and productive herd
well i n t o the future .
A record number of 1,314 hunters receiv-
ed deer tags for the controlled hunt in the
Wingham District, up 14 per cent from last
year. A total of 244 deer were brought to
MNR check stations at Wingham, Hullett
and Zurich where the animals were weigh-
ed, aged, and sampled for a variety of
biological indices, using tests which are
standards throughout North America.
The largest buck brought in weighed 251
lbs. dressed weight, (335 lbs. live weight),
and was three -and -one-half years old. Ten
bucks weighed over 200 lbs. dressed
weight, but only eight anima I' were neer
four -and -one-half years old. Fawns and
yearlings made up 65 per cent of the total
harvest.
MNR staff have radio -collared and ear -
tagged 24 deer in Huron County over the
past three years as part of a province -wide
study. Three of the collared deer were
harvested by hunters this year.
Of the 12 mortalities among the collared
deer to date, seven deaths have been at-
tributed to hunters, two each were killed
by dogs and vehicles, and one was killed by
poachers.

Bell MVP
A hardy congratulations goes out to
the Toronto Blue Jays' left fielder,
George Bell.
The feisty Dominican narrowly beat
out the Detroit Tigers' Alan Trammel
for the American League Most
Valuable Player honors.
.
George's statistics speak for
themselves. It's nice to see he was judg-
ed on his performance over the entire
year, rather than the Blue Jays' horri-
ble final week.
