In loving memory of a dear wife, mother and
Grandmother, Isabel Stewart, who passed away
5 years ago November 25, 1982:
The call was sudden the shock severe,
To part with someone we loved so dear,
To some you may be forgotten,
To others a part of the past,
But to us who loved and lost you,
Your memory will always last,
Our hearts still ache with sadness and secret
tears still flow,
You meant so very much to us that nothing we
can say,
Can tell the sadness in our hearts as we think of
you today.
Lovingly remembered and madly Missed by Lloyd
and family. -47x

who entertained an audience of 167 on November 21. The crowd gave Mr. Avery, Lorne
Buick and Hamish Gordon a standing ovation. (Anne Chisholm photo)
Wind Trio blows them away
CLINTON - If there were any Clinton Arts
subscribers who were sceptical about
whether they would enjoy an evening of
classical music, the Vancouver Wind Trio's
exciting performance the evening of
November 21 scattered their doubts to the
wind. The group received a standing ovation
from the audience, who were obviously
de ted by the original, va ed, and in-
tereestinnng music, mixed with witty dialogue.
Selections from the classics proved the
superlative musicianship of the trio, who
then showed their skills as comedians in
their liberal, if not hilarious interpretations
of Prokofiev's Peter and the Wolf, Saint
Saens' Carnival of the Animals, and Rock
Around the Clock.
Anthony Avery on Bassoon, Lorne Buick
on Clarinet and Hamish Gordon on Oboe and
English horn, all from Vancouver, have
been touring Ontario for the past three
weeks. They have toured all over North
America, and have performed in China.
Future tours will include Australia, Hawaii
and possibly Russia.
Anthony Avery who leads the trio,
emigrated to Canada from Britain in 1980
and founded the trio. He is principal ar-
ranger for the group as well as holding pro-
fessorships at the University of British C+eiI-
umbia Faculty of Music and the Richmond
College of Music. Lorne Buick and Hanvsh
Gordon have degrees in music and are cur-
rently involved in furthering their musical
studies in Vancouver when not on tour.
The next exciting event in the Clinton Arts
Committee's Series is coming from the op-
posite side of the country. The Jest in Time
theatre troupe is coming from Halifax to
entertain subscribers on January 29.
The CAC met Monday, Nov. 23, and
agreed to sell individual tickets to the re-
maining two events: Jest in Time, and Life
After Hockey, for $8 per ticket. These can be
obtained through CAC members or through
the town hall.
Christmas concert
and art exhibit at CHSS
CLINTON - Great things are happening in
music and art these days at Central Huron
Secondary School (CHSS) .
The general public will have a chance to
view these happenings at the annual
Christmas Concert and Art Exhibition to be
held on Wednesday, December 2 at 7:30
p.m. at the high school. Please note the
change of day this year to Wednesday.
When you enter the halls at CHSS, you will
be pleased with the art displays which will
greet you. Art teacher Ron Walker says he
is planning a general cross section of art
work from all the grades.
As a result of the art shows at the Blyth
Summer Festival, CHSS art students are
becoming known throughout the county for
their fine quality of work. Come and see

where it all begins.
Once again the music club, under the
capable leadership of Hugh McGregor and
Louise McGregor, has an evening of music
planned for all.
The program features numbers by the
concert band, concert choir, stage band, and
the Grades 9 and 10 music classes. The
music club will be performing at the same
high level that saw the choir receive many
awards last year.
A special treat this year will be a newly
formed Teachers' Band. Rumor has it that
there may be a competition brewing bet-
ween ttie students and the teachers. The one
stipulation for the teachers was that they
had to choose an instrument that they had
never played before. Care to place any odds
on who will win the competition?
Tickets for this entertaining evening will
be on sale at the door. Everyone Is Invited.
