The labor of many hours by actors and crew members is about to be tested in a public performance of Fred Carmichael's three act farce entitled Exit The Body. Plan to reserve November 20 at 7:30 p.m. so that you may attend the performance. The plot of this five male and five female production involves the story of a woman mystery writer who has rented a New England house to rest and work on a new novel. Unknown to her, the house is also a rendezvous point for some stolen jewels. The focal point of the interior set is a closet which opens onto a living room and into a library. In the closet is found a body which promptly disappears only to be succeeded by a second body. Just the kind of thing you need to have happen while on vacation in a strange house. The hunt for the stolen jewels reaches a climax at 2 a.m. when four couples, unknown to each other, turn up to search. To see the resultant series of hilarious exits and entrances is worth the price of the ticket alone. From the opening laugh to the final line, this play is guaranteed to make even the most staid au- dience cry with laughter. As is the tradition with all Christmas pro- ductions by the Drama Club, this play sees the debut of several new actors. Laura Fowlie plays the part of Lillian, a mischievous friend of Crane's who has recently married Lyle, played by Andrew Dunn. Linda Hearn has the role of Jenny, the half-wit hired housekeeper whose antics are guaranteed to spark laughter. Ran- dolph, played by Colin Thomas, and Helen, played by Lauralee Johnston, are amateur crooks out to learn the whereabouts of the stolen jewels. Crane, played by Tanja Grillmayer, is a famous mystery writer seeking rest and relaxation with her compa- nion and secretary Kate, played by Kendra Papple. Dave LaTour plays Vernon, the local Justice of the Peace, dog catcher, and sheriff all rolled into one hilarious character. The victim of amnesia, Philip, played by Paul Taylor, wanders onto the property and begins his journey of self discovery right in the midst of a classic chase scene. Finally, the last to make his appearance is Tony LaTour who plays the part of Crane's husband, Richard. He left an important conference just to be with Crane but never expected to be hit over the head and placed in a closet. Residents of Clinton and area have been enthusiastic supporters of the Drama Club in the past. The hugely successful year end Dinner Theatre productions over the last four years have been increased attendance each year and great compliments directed to the students. Please reserde some time this Friday evening and come out to support some new young acting stars on the stage at Central Huron. Marvelous things are hap- pening in our public schools. Drama at Cen- tral Huron is proof. Hard work pays off for Atom As The Clinton Atom A hockey team launch- ed it's '87-'88 season with a great team effort and a strong desire to score goals. With several games already under their belt, the Seaforth team proved to be a tough challenge for the Clinton boys. Entering the third period with a 2-1 lead for Seaforth, hopes were high that Clinton might succeed. However, by period end, Seaforth had found the net four times, Clin- ton only once. Goal scorers for Clinton were Paul Vandendool and Mike Hohner, both unassisted. Clinton 9 - Mitchell 2 Clinton Atom A's outshot a keen Mitchell home team on November 7 38 to 12, for their first win of the season.
