Maid of honor was Suanne Smith and bridesmaids were Mary Lou McGregor of RR5 Clinton, Nancy Maillet of Goderich, Barll Young of Mount Forest, Jodie Castle of Clin on and Patsy Keller of Goderich. The flowk r girls were Kailley McGregor of RR5 Clinton and Chelsey Maillet of Goderich. Best man was Don Shropshall and ushers were Claude of Goderich, Brian Newington of London, Paul Castle of Goderich, John VanLoo of Clinton and Chris McGregor of RR5 Clinton. Ringer bearer was Brandon Martin of Brucefield. The double ring ceremony was officiated by Rev. Woodall. Organist was Louise McGregor and soloist was Lisa Bosman. ROBERT BEACOME of Clinton died on Thursday, November 12, 1987. Funeral service was held on Saturday, November 14, 1987. Kersey -Heard Linda Suzanne Heard, daughter of Juen Heard and the late Gordon Heard of Seaforth, and William Paul Kersey, sou of Mr. and Mrs. Patrick Kersey of Halifax, Nova Scotia, were married at St. Andrew's United Church, Bayfield, on October 10. Bridesmaids were Michelle Wilson of Seaforth and Elizabeth O'Neill of Alliston. Junior bridesmaid was Susie Wachhaus, of Kingsville, cousin of the bride. Best man was Robert Kersey of Halifax, brother of the groom. Ushers were Shawn Kersey of Halifax, brother of the groom and Don Heard of Seaforth, brother of the birde. Music was provided by Jayne and Lucille Delaney. The reception was held at the Seaforth Golf and Country Club. F'ollowing a honeymoon in Bermuda, the couple will reside in Waterloo. (Phillips -Campbell photo) Baptisms held in Holmesville By Blanche Deeves HOLMESVILLE - The Senior choir led in the ministry of music in Holmesville United Church on November 15. Rev. James Bechtel spoke to the children and they could not control their tongues after asking them who had pets at home. Baptism was held during the service at which time Shirley Norman presented her daughter, Caleta and Pat and Tom Costello presented their daughter, Katherine Marilyn. Greg Lobb and Larry Rutledge received the offering. A family gathering for the Norman family was held following the baptism of Caleta at the home of Barb and Douglas Norman, when 12 sat to dinner. The Enterprising Se in ors will meet in the community centre in Holmesville on November 19 at 2 p.m. Clinton and area obituaries Robert Lawrence Beacome A lifetime area resident, Robert Lawrence Beacome, died at Clinton Public Hospital on November 12, 1987. He was 90. Born at Summerhill, Huron County, on June 12, 1897, he was the son of Christopher Beacome and Margaret Ann Manning. He is survived by his wife the formerFan- nie Lee. They were wed at Londesboro on January 9, 1924. Also surviving are several nieces and nephews. Mr. Beacome was predeceased by five sisters, Albretta (Mrs. Wilfred Biggin), Ed- na (Mrs. Thomas Churchill), Myrtle (Mrs. Wellington Holtzhauer), Fern (Mrs. Bert Finlay), Nellie (Mrs. Cecil Cooper) and, one brother William Beacome. Funeral and committal services were held on November 14 at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton. Pastor Douglas Richards of the Clinton Pentecostal Church officiated. Mr. Beacome was a member of that church. Interment was held at the . Clinton Cemetery. Gerty Keller Gerty Ellen Keller died in Clinton Public Hospital. She was 79 years old. Mrs. Keller was born on July 2, 1908 in Port Burwell to Henry and Jenny May (Williams) Mills. She was predeceased by her husband, Elmer A. Keller, in 1983 as well as three brothers and one sister. Mrs. Keller is survived by one daughter, Lucille Arthur and her husband Harry of Auburn and three grandchildren, Judy Cieslar of Goderich, Mark Arthur of Auburn and Greg Arthur of Smith Falls. She is also survived by five great grandchildren, Scott, Rachel and Joel Arthur and Sarah and Patrick Cieslar as well as one sister-in-law, Mrs. Stuart (Velma) Mills of Brantford. A funeral service was held at the Tasker Funeral Home in Blyth with a service in the chapel on November 9. Rev. Pat Nunn officiated. Pallbearers were Kenneth McDougall of Clinton, Dr. Harry Cieslar of Goderich and grandsons Mark Arthur and Greg Arthur. Interment in Balls Cemetery, Auburn. Jessie Godbolt Jessie Godbolt of Bayfield died at Alexan- dra Marine and General Hospital, Goderich on November 14. She was 65. The wife of Harvey Godbolt, she was born on May 25, 1922 in Alma Township. She was the daughter of the late John Henderson and Pearl Lippert. Mrs. Godbolt is survived by her children, Barbara and Roy Walter and family, Judy Nancy, Vicki, Sally and Charlie of RR4 Goderich, and, Mervyn and Loretta Godbolt and son Michael of Kitchener. Funeral services were held on November 16 at the Beattie Funeral Home in Clinton. Rev. Douglas Pitts officiated. Pallbearers were Carl Ruppel, Harold Coombs, Clement McKellan and James Boyce. Interment was held at the St. James Cemetery, Clandeboye. Grace Potter A former Belgrave resident, Grace Potter of Ingersoll, died in Alexandria Hospital in Ingersoll on November 8. She was 88. She was born in Morris Township, the daughter of Joseph and Edith Curtis. She was married on May 23, 1928 in Bluevale to Harold Proctor. The couple farmed on the third line of Morris Township and retired to Belgrave in the fall of 1962. There, Mrs. Proctor was a member of the Belgrave United Church. Mrs .Troctor moved to Ingersoll in 1977 to live with her daughter and son-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. John Spivey. For the past five years, Mrs. Proctor was a resident at the Oxford Regional Nursing Home in Ingersoll. Along with daughter and son-in-law, Mrs. Proctor is survived by one sister, Mrs. Viet- ta McKee of Montreal, four grandchildren and four great grandchildren. She was predeceased by an infant daughter and by a sister, Margaret Curtis. She died in September of 1986. Funeral services were held on November 10 at the McBurney Funeral Home in Wingham. Rev. G. Roberts officiated and burial took place at the Brandon Cemetery, Belgrave. C. Marie Johnston On November 10, Mrs. C. Marie (Wood) Johnston Jr. of London at Victoria Hospital. She was 50. She was the wife of W.O. (Slim) Johnston and the mother of Major Dr. Stephen Johnston and wife Una of Ottawa and Mrs. Ethel Wood and the late J.F. Wood of Lind- say. A sister, Elda and her husband Douglas Graham of Mississauga and brother Robert Wood and his wife Bev of Minden. also sur- vive, along with six nephews and one niece. Also surviving are parents-in-law, Mr. and Mrs. W.O. Johnston Sr. of Clinton, and brother-in-law Ron Johnston and wife Joan of Vancouver. Mrs. Johnston was born in Lindsay on April 13, 1937. She went to school there and was active in Girl Guides, being the first Gold Cord in the district. She graduated from Peterborough Teachers' College in 1956. Her teaching career included work in Scarborough, Brechin, Strathroy and London, where she had taught the last 27 years, with the excep- tion of one year, 1969-1970 in Clinton. Funeral services were held from the Needham Funeral Home, London. Alex Mc- Call, principal of Empress School officiated. A special scholarship fund, The Marie Johnston Memorial Scholarship Fund has been established on her behalf at the Em- press Avenue School in London. ELIZABETH IRENE SMITH Mrs. Elizabeth Irene Smith of Bayfield died suddenly Tuesday, November 10 as a result of an automobile accient in Hay Township. The former Elizabeth Irene Mitchell, she was born in London to parents who still . reside in London. She was office manager at Exeter Plastics, Grand Bend. She was also a member of Trinity Anglican Church in Bayfield. She is survived by her husband, Mat- thew Corbin Smith of Bayfield; two children, William and Tanya at home; brothers and sisters, Robert, Richard, Sheila, Michael and Daniel Mitchell; her maternal grandmother, Mrs. Leona Pep- per of Windsor; and her father and mother-in-law, Marshall and Ruth Smith of Bayfield. Funeral Mass was held in Trinity Anglican Church, Bayfield on Thursday, November 12 with the Rev. Father Aubrey Bell as celebrant. Interment was in Bayfield Cemetery. Pallbearers were Bill Talbot, Bud Sturgeon, Brian Brandon, Rick Talbot, Tim West and Ray Scott. McCallum and Palla Funeral Home in Goderich was in charge of funeral arrangements. JOHANNA LOGTENBERG Mrs. Johanna Logtenberg, RR 6 Goderich died in Victoria Hospital, Lon- don, on Monday, November 9. Mrs. Logtenberg was born in Zoutkamp, The Netherlands to parents Jan and Apriana (DeVoogd) Broere. She was mar- ried to Jacob Hoekstra who died in 1957. She is survived by her second husband Gerrit Logtenberg. Also surviving are her children, Mrs. Louis (Anne) Vellenga of Mossley; Mrs. Albert (Audrey) Gordon of London; Jenny Kuiken of Acton; John Hoekstra and his wife Harmke of Hanover; Bob Hoekstra and his wife Margaret of Hanover; step- children Mrs. Tim (Alie) Reurink of Lucknow; Mrs. Hendrik (Geertje) Veldman of The Netherlands; Mrs. Thys (Femmie) Groen of Goderich; Derk Logtenberg and his wife Tinie of Dungan- non; Mrs. Douwe (Gerda) Dam of Guelph; Mrs. Wolter (Reina) Nyboer of The Netherlands; Mrs. David (Lummie) McGibbon of Kitchener; and Gerrit Logtenberg and Diane of Port Albert; brother and sisters Anton Broere, Mrs. Jan (Janna) Pol and Mrs. Neeltje Vander - Veen, all of The Netherlands; and many grandchildren and great grandchildren. She was predeceased by one brother, Piet Broere. The funeral service and commital ser- vice was held at Trinity Christian Reform- ed Church in Goderich on Wednesday, November 11 with the Rev. Harry Vriend officiating. Organist was Mrs. Logtenberg's grarddaughter, Joan Hoekstra. Pallbearers were grandsons John, Ian and Timothy Hoekstra; Louis Vellenga Jr.; Robert Rundle; aid Ronald Kuiken. Kelly is the daughter of Ken and Coreen Caldwell of St. Thomas. Brian is the son of Pete and Patricia Honsinger of Aylmer. The wedding took place in St. Thomas on October 23.
