The Redmen junior football team from
Central Huron secondary School travelled
to Goderich on October 29 to compete
against the GDCI Vikings in. the Huron
Perth Semi -Finals.
The Redmen's regular season record of
two wins and three losses qualified them
for the semi-finals in fourth place.
The game started out with Central
Huron receiving the ball. Gaderich,
however, was the first to score. Their con-
version attempt was foiled by excellent
defensive pressure.
The Redmen were quick to respond with
their own touchdown. Steve Vandendool
ran in against a powerful Viking defense,
Keith .Ducharme then proceeded to kick
the single point conversion to put the
Redmen in a 7-6 lead.
Goderich came back to score again, but
the Redmen continued to score also. Steve
Vandendool ran in his second touchdown
and he caught the conversion pass from
Terry Sloan for two points.
Keith Ducharme scored a single point on
a field goal attempt and, to round out Cen-
tral Huron's scoring, Terry Sloan ran in
for his first touchdown of the year.
The score ended up 42 to 22 in favor of the
Vikings despite the Regimen's excellent
team effort.
The whole Redmen junior football team
should be congratulated on an excellent
season.
The team consisted of Matt Butcher,
Scott Caldwell, Keith Ducharme, Daryl
Hemingway, Brad Jewitt, Dave Jones,
Jason Knights, Greg Lobb, Richard Lyn-
don, Jamie MacDonald, Doug Maguire,
Jeff Powell, Jason Papple, Terry Sloan,
Mike Steckle, Darren Stevenson, Matt

The team owes a lot to the dedicated and
skilled coaching of Mike Hillier and Ken

Oakridge 3 - Clinton 1
At the Oakridge Arora on November 2
Clinton lost 3-1 in a very sloppily played
game. The boys seemed to lack the intensi-
ty needed to win a game, and therefore,
were outplayed, outchecked, and of course
outscored.
Clinton scored their only goal in the first
period :is Jason Boughen's blueline screen
shot found the net. Oakridge came back in
the second stanza scoring three
unanswered goals to seal away the victory.

to drill home a goal to tie the score at 1-1.

all alone in front of the Listowel net at 6:46
to give Clinton a 2-1 lead.

Rathwell gave Clinton a 3-1 advantage
after being set up by newcomer Robbie
Consitt and Scott Wright.
Listowel's Brad Wilson cut Clinton's
lead to 3-2 late in the second at 12:45.
Two quick goals by Listowel's Tim Byer

things going for Clinton at 1:48 when he
scored on a goal -mouth pass from Scott

scored with one second left in the period to
give Clinton a 2-0 lead.

Three unanswered goals by Clinton in
the third stanza off the sticks of Shaun
Chipchase, Scott Jewitt and Scott Mc-

The first goal of the period by Chipchase
was a beautiful passing play set up by fast
skating Jason Carter at 5:16. At 7:09 Scott
Jewitt back handed home a rebound off,a
Mark Livermore shot. Lee Gibbings also
drew an assist on the marker. Scott Mc-

During the Novice game at the Blyth arena on November 5, much of the action was in the

pressure by the visiting team in the Blyth home opener resulted in a 5-1 win for Seaforth.
