held for former member
CLINTON - The Afternoon Unit of Ontario
Street United Church met in the ladies'
parlor with 25 members and one visitor
present.
Vera MacDonald, the leader, welcomed
all and one minute's silence was observed in
memory of Hazel Matheson, a valued
member.
Everyone joined in the singin and Vera
MacDonald read a poem.
Worship service was taken b' Ethel
McPherson and her group. A hymn was
sung accompanied by Bernice Richardson
at the piano. A poem was read by Vera
Glazier. Bernice Richardson read a story on
thankfulness.
Marjorie Caldwell led in prayer. The of-
fering was taken by Grace Forbes and
dedicated by Ethel McPherson. A hymn was
then sung.
Ethel McPherson introduced Marlene
Forbes who spoke of her weekend at
Westminster. She told of the different
groups and the grounds. She was thanked by
Ida Godkin.
There were 21 home and 19 hospital calls
during the month. Grace Forbes gave the
treasurer's report seconded by Edith
Wright. Edith Wright read the
correspondence.
A UCW dinner is to be held on November
30 at 6:30 p.m. commemorating the 25th an-
niversary. Susan Tyndall is to be the
speaker.
All three units will join together for the
December meeting. The Afternoon ladies
will serve lunch under the leadership of Kay
Elliott and Leila Webster.
A quiz on the United Church Mission and
Service Fund was led by Ethel McPherson.
The meeting closed with the Mizpah
Benediction and lunch was served by Vera
MacGregor, Alice Lawson and Hazel
Parker.
Huronview residents try
their luck at bowling
HURONVIEW - Residents who enjoy the
art of bowling were in Clinton on Monday to
try their luck at knocking down the pins.
Dixie Lee chicken was the order of the day
when residents from Park Place, Shady
Nook and Bayview had their dinner last
week. Ed Stiles entertained on the piano.

ram met for their weekly session of games

Catholic Mass on Friday morning in the
chapel.
