BELGRAVE - The WMS held their 100th
anniversary October 5 in Knox Presbyterian
Church.
Margaret Dunbar opened with a call to
worship and welcomed the guests. A hymn
was sung and the soloist, Marion Mundell of
Gerrie, sang an old favourite. Scripture was
read by Ivy Cloakey; Margaret Siertsema
read a meditation on missions to foreign
lands. Robena McBurney led in prayer and
the solist sang.
Hazel Dalrymple introduced the guest
speaker, Madelaine Edwards of Goderich
who gave an inspiring talk on some history
of the WMS as it made its beginning 100
years ago and also on the 1987 Congress held
in Winnipeg which was on the theme saying
yes to Christ today.
Mrs. Garner Nicholson gave a brief
history of the early church life in Belgrave
and the beginning of the Ladies Missionary
Group which was started by the minister's
wife, Mrs. Leask of St. Helen's, 100 years
ago. Mrs. Nicholson names some of the
charter members and dedicated the flowers
on the table to their memory followed by a
moment of silence.
Lottie Scott and Freda Scott received the
collection which was dedicated by Mrs.
Dunbar. Mrs. Nicholson thanked the
speaker, soloist and all who helped with the
service.
Lunch was served in the W.I. Hall and a
decorated cake was cut by Mrs. Dunbar and
Mrs. Agnes Youngblut. Rev. Jamieson said
grace.
Guests were present from Wingham,
Whitechurch, Bluevale, afternoon Unit of
Belgrave UCW and the Anglican church ,
ladies.
Mrs. James Wightman was the first Presi-
dent, Mrs. G. Law was secretary and Mrs.
William Caesar, treasurer.
Mary, Elizabeth and Grace Irvine were
Missionaries in China, leaving from Knox
Presbyterian Church in Belgrave.
Mrs. William Schreiber and daughter
Kathy of Milton and Mrs. Dorothy Pelfer of
Weston spent a few days with Mrs. Sarah
Anderson this past week.
Friends and neighbors of this community
extend sympathy to Mr. and Mrs. Charlie
Procter in the loss of her mother Mrs. Agnes
Coulthart who died recently at Paisley,
Scotland.
Mr. and Mrs. Edgar Wightman were Sun-
day visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Don Metcalfe
and family of Hanover.
Barbara Coultes of Toronto spent
Thanksgiving weekend with her mother
Mrs. Janisa Coultes.
Donald Walker of Exeter visited on Sun-
day with his parents Mr. and Mrs. Wilfred
Walker.
Mr. and Mrs. Brian Shaw, Mr. and Mrs.
Geoff Viglianti and Stephanie, London were
Thanksgiving visitors with their parents
Mr. and Mrs. Leslie Shaw.

CONCERNING A PROPOSED
ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Goderich will hold
a public meeting on Monday, November 16, 1987 at 7: ,R.flE at the_Goderich Township
Community Centre in Holmesvilli to consider a proposes otdeig'By-la'`�li Arthendment under
Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1983.
The proposed zoning by-law amendment changes the zoning on Part Lot 39, Concession
10, Township of Goderich, as shown on the map below, from "AG1 - General Agriculture"
to "AG4 - Agricultural Small Holding" to recognize a 3.2 ac. (1.2 ha) parcel with an ex-
isting residence and barn. The lot is created as a result of Consent B3/87. This by-law
amends By-law 6-1984 for the Township of Goderich.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representa-
tion either In support of or in opposition to the proposed zoning by-law amendment.
ADDITIONAL INFORMATION relating to the proposed zoning by-law amendment is available
at the Township Office or by calling the Township Clerk during normal business hours.
A copy of the draft by-law is attached for your Information.

LEAF PICK UP
—Weather Permitting —
The Public Works, Town of Clinton will pick up leaves that
are SECURELY CONTAINED in bags or boxes and left at
the roadside. Leaves must be kept separate from garbage.
Pick up will be effective immediately, every Monday to and
including November 16, 1987.
RESIDENTS ARE ALSO REMINDED that as stated in By -
Law 6-87 the burning of leaves, rubbish or other materials
is prohibited within the municipal boundaries. Acting con-
trary to this by-law can bring fines of up to $1,000.00
The orginal debris pick up was intended for Spring Cleanup
in April and May only and is not in effect at this time and
is the responsibility of the individual to arrange proper
disposal.

CONCERNING A PROPOSED
ZONING BY-LAW AMENDMENT
TAKE NOTICE that the Council of the Corporation of the Township of Goderich will hold
a public meeting on Monday, November 16, 1987 at 7:30 p.m. at the Goderich Township
Community Centre In Holmesville to consider a proposed Zoning By-law Amendment under
Section 34 of the Planning Act, 1983.,
The proposed zoning by-law amendment changes the zoning on Lot 7, R.P. 601 (located
on Pt. Lot 20, Conc. 1) in the Township of Goderich, as shown on the sketch below, from
"Recreational Residential (RC1)" to "Recreational Residential - Special (RC1 -3)". The
rezoning recognizes a deficient rear yard of 6.7 m (22.1 ft.) for the existing residence
whereas the by-law requires 7.5 m (24.6 ft.). This by-law amends By-law 6-1984 for the
Township of Goderich.
ANY PERSON may attend the public meeting and/or make written or verbal representa-
tion either in support of or in opposition to the proposed zoning by-law amendment.
