St. Joe's bazaar to
feature super draw prizes
CLINTON - Further plans were made on
September 8 by St. Joseph's sub -division of
the Catholic Women's League (CWL) for the
annual bazaar, Saturday, October 17 in the
church hall. Proceeds from the draw on
prizes donated by Clinton merchants are
ear -marked for the Clinton Public Hospital
Building Fund presently underway.
Included are a $300 reclining chair,
donated by B. and M. Furniture; a $200 food
voucher, given by Kuenzig's Food Market;
a $200 sterling silver necklace, donated by
Anstett's Jewellers, and a $25 meat voucher
given by the Clinton Meat Market.
The bazaar will include tea tables, a bake
sale, crafts, plants, flea market, kidscorner
and a penny sale.
Reports presented at the meeting showed
that four carloads of parishioners attended
the annual pilgrimage to Our Lady's Shrine
at St. Marys in July; that a busload of
members and friends would participate in a
one -day tour to Cullen Gardens on
September 23; and that the president Corrie
Brand, accompanied by three members, at-
tended the national C.W.L. convention held
in August in London.
Ann Ball told that a large number of cards
were sent over the summer months to the
sick, shut-ins and bereaved. To date, accor-
ding to Nellie Wammes, the membership
this year totals 53, a slight decrease over
that of the previous year. Reports were
given by Teena Bos, secretary and Mary
Van Den Ellzen, treasurer.
The ladies were grateful to an anonymous
member who recently gave the gift of a new
coffee maker to the group.
The president announced that the sum of
$125 was sent by the sub -division to the mis-
sion field in India.
Members are invited to attend the Strat-
