Proceeds from the draw on prizes donated by Clinton merchants are ear -marked for the Clinton Public Hospital Building Fund presently underway. Included are a $300 reclining chair, donated by B. and M. Furniture; a $200 food voucher, given by Kuenzig's Food Market; a $200 sterling silver necklace, donated by Anstett's Jewellers, and a $25 meat voucher given by the Clinton Meat Market. The bazaar will include tea tables, a bake sale, crafts, plants, flea market, kidscorner and a penny sale. Reports presented at the meeting showed that four carloads of parishioners attended the annual pilgrimage to Our Lady's Shrine at St. Marys in July; that a busload of members and friends would participate in a one -day tour to Cullen Gardens on September 23; and that the president Corrie Brand, accompanied by three members, at- tended the national C.W.L. convention held in August in London. Ann Ball told that a large number of cards were sent over the summer months to the sick, shut-ins and bereaved. To date, accor- ding to Nellie Wammes, the membership this year totals 53, a slight decrease over that of the previous year. Reports were given by Teena Bos, secretary and Mary Van Den Ellzen, treasurer. The ladies were grateful to an anonymous member who recently gave the gift of a new coffee maker to the group. The president announced that the sum of $125 was sent by the sub -division to the mis- sion field in India. Members are invited to attend the Strat- ford Deanery meeting at St. Briget's, Logan, October 14 from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. War veteran, businessman dies' William Robert Dalrymple . A well known Brucefield resident, William Hobert Dalrymple, died in Stratford General Hospital on September 21. He was 69. A lifetime resident of Brucefield, he was born on June 15, 1918, the son of the late Harry Dalrymple and Milda Anderson. He was the owner and operator of the Dalrymple Garage in Brucefield. He was also involved in community work, serving as a member of the IOOF Lodge 210 in Brucefield and a member of the Masonic I ,odge in Hensall. A veteran of World War II, Mr. Dalrymple was a prisoner of war from August 19, 1942 until May 7, 1945 after he was captured from the raid on Dieppe. He was a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Branch 140. Mr. Dalrymple also served on the board of managers of the Brucefield United Church. He is survived by his wife, the former Beatrice M. Cooper, as well as children Bon- nie and Robert Marshall of Collingwood and Betty and Bruce MacPhee of Goderich. He is also survived by two sisters, Jean (Mrs. Forbes Elliott) of Stratford and Grace ( Mrs. Ray Pepper of Bayfield. Funeral services were held at the Brucefield United Church on September 23 with Rev. Lorne Keays officiating. Inter- ment was held at Baird's Cemetery. The Beattie Funeral Horne, Clinton, made the funeral arrangements. Memorial donations in Mr. Dalrymple's memory were received for the International Red Cross. (Snyder Studio photo) Rienink-Jackson Lois Jackson, youngest daughter of Jim and Hilda Jackson of RR5 Clinton, and George Rienink, youngest son of Wilma and Her- man Rienink of Londesboro, were married on September 12 at Brucefield United Church. Maid of honor was Kris MacDonald and bridesmaids were Ann Strebel, cousin of the bride, Colleen Maloney of Seaforth and Sharon McKenzie of Brucefield. The best man was Andy Ives of Blyth and ushers were Ronald Bruinsma of Goderich, Jim Hakkers of Kitchener and John Greidanus of Clinton. The double ring ser- vice was officated by Rev. Keys. Sherri Lynette Bachert and Philip James McKinley were married, August 1, 1987 at the Clinton Town Hall Auditorium by Mr. Samuel Maze of St. Lucia, West Indies. It was the first wedding ceremony performed at the Auditorium. The bride is the daughter of Keith and Janet Bachert of Walton and the groom is the son of George and Queenie McKinley of Dungannon, Northern Ireland. Maid of honour was Sonja Leivo of Sarnia, friend of the bride and bridesmaids were Tammy Driscoll of Walton, friend of the bride and Sheila Bachert, sister of the bride. Junior bridesmaid was Shirlee Bachert, sister of the bride. Follow- ing a dinner and reception at the Seaforth and District Community Centre the couple honeymooned in Florida. They will reside at RR 1, Beamsville, Ont. Clinton obituaries WRAY JAMES CORNISH A Huronview, Clinton and former Hullett Township resident, Wray James Cornish, died in Clinton Public Hospital on September 25. He was 61. The son of the late Glen Ray Cornish and Effie Alberta Pickett, he was born in Clinton on April 23•, 1926. He was a member of On- tario Street United Church, Clinton. He farmed with his parents in Hullett Township. Mr. Cornish is survived by two sisters (Mrs. Fred Vodden) of RR 1 Clinton and Margaret (Mrs. Clark Ball) of Clinton. He is also survived by several nieces and nephews. Rev. David Woodall conducted funeral and committal services which were held at the Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clin- ton on September 28. She was born in Wheatley, Essex County, the daughter of the late David Imeson and the former Margaret Brown. She married Ronald John Carter in December of 1928 at St. George's Anglican Church, Windsor. Surviving beside her husband are: son4 Terrence (Terry) of Brantford, son Richard (Dick) of Amhertsburg, son David of Clear- water, Florida, daughter Margaret (Mrs. Robert Warren) of Stuart, Florida, daughter Eleanor Brooks of Windsor, and son Ross of Oakville. Also surviving are one brother Royal Im- eson of Wheatley and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by one son William, sisters Edith, Charlotte and Winnifred and borther Winston and Roland. The service was held at the McCallum and Palla Funeral me on Wednesday, September 23 with Pastor John Beausoleil of the Seventh Day Adventist Church officiating. Cremation at Woodland Crematorium.
