You could win a new 1988 Ford Aeorstar Van, a Caribbean cruise, a Las Vegas trip, or cash prizes - it's all part of the excitement and fun to be featured on Satur- day, October 3 at the Second Annual Casino Fun Night at the Clinton Legion Hall from 9 p.m. to 1 a.m. The fund raising effort for the Clinton Public Hospital is back by popular demand after a successful debut last year. Proceeds from the draw will help finance the $1 -million project to build a new obstetrical wing at the hospital. For this year's draw, a Ford Aerostar Van is being offered as the grand prize. As well, other prizes include a cruise, a Las Vegas vacation, two weekend trips to Wheels Inn in Chatham and a Montreal holiday. As well, cash prizes totalling more than $1,500 are also to be won. In total the 16 prizes to be drawn are valued at over $22,765 and only 350 tickets are being sold. Chances of winning are one in 16. Draws will be made on October 3 at the Casino Night. The evening's entertainment will also feature favorite games of chance and lively fun. Admission tickets are $2 each. With the admission ticket comes a change to win a door prize, an Atlantic City trip, and $2,000 in play money for the Casino Night fun. Tickets for both the car draw and general admission to Casino Night are still available in limited quantities. Reducing red tape applications .... because, "They're not on the high priority list now." As well, there will be fewer items to han- dle and local planners will be dealing with local situations. In the final category, decisions, Dr. Davidson says there will be more local in- put, "Which we feel is very valuable." He also sees local planning goals, opposed to provincial planning goals being used. During the question period, Councillor Gord Gerrits said, "If there is a request for approval in Clinton for a subdivision and then one in Goderich would you not be in situation of being too close to the fire to see what you're doing?" Dr. Davidson said the decision would be made on the local demands. What it basically amounts to, according to Dr. Davidson, is we'll ask, "Does Clinton want it?" . from page 1 decision makers are right there and are in- volved in the situation. Under the same heading he included the fact that the deci- sion is made by a vote, "Not by a minister in his office." Time is what Dr. Davidson says is the big- gest savings. He also feels that less red tape is a time saving device. Local knowledge and site inspections is also a benefit, says Dr. Davidson, as this allows each municipality the local variation.
