Money for the arts
The newly formed Huron/Perth arts coun-
cil has recently received confirmation of a
grant from the ministry of citizenship and
culture.
The grant of $10,000 comes from the nevb
category, class connections, under the arts
division. This will assist the arts council
with its plans to rejuvenate and expand the
original Gallery/Stratford's Art Pack Pro-
gram, now entitled Vision On -
Arts/Heritage. This project will produce a
series of approximately 75 visual arts, per-
forming arts, and heritage resource kits to
be made available to schools and communi-
ty groups throughout the Huron -Perth area.
The grant will also be used to assist in the
hiring of a part time project co-ordinator
and resource person to continue the develop-
ment of this project, under the supervision
of the arts education office of the
Gallery/Stratford.
The Huron/Perth arts council presently
publishes a newsletter which features com-
ing events of interest to communities in
Huron and Perth. As well, the council is a
network for contact between artists and
numerous arts organizations in the area.
