Caffeine and children don't mix Billboards, catchy jingles and attractive ads on TV and in magazines tell the public that they may look better, feel better, and perhaps even be more successful and popular if they drink caffeine -containing beverages. Is it any wonder that their sales are booming? Children are particularly susceptible to the power of suggestion from these ads. Is there really any harm in drink- ing caffeine beverages? If a young child drinks one can of cola containing caffeine. the caffeine content is comparable to an adult drinking four cups of coffee. Research studies are symptoms many children ex- perience such as insomnia, increase in heart rate, nervousness, and irritability. Diet Center suggests that children be encourag- ed to drink water, natural fruit and vegetable juices, and low fat milk instead of soda pop, which may be filled with sugar, chemicals, sodium, and caffeine. 1 S ' F ashl°•ns S e to ataskcr s. r] freshest no', saving', • TEmBE 5th :u off toG toe Vamoi, Brand wide ae_nle eDrop in today cif in- ri1 to Ali td he askers We are ti ;RAND Or vt`1(; C1.IN 1'ON NEWS -RECORD, WEDNESDAY, SEPTEMBER 2, 1987 --Page 7 NOTICE Ratepayers of The Town of Clinton are reminded that the Third Instalment of 1987 Taxes are due and payable by September 15, 1987 at TOWN CLERK'S OF- FICE or to Box 400, Clinton, Onto NOM 1L0 RAINS Ile of ioar -casketA" ,, s avon like •j rater often a N ecegsar y ge y% VOt R F111ST ('1 6( F Asw ION 00, Business, %f r ifs 1$ourg' q am i.i{1 pn' 'rl r' Thurs. f,0,',,,rr/'r, Vine .
