Mary Ann Doherty
Mary Ann Doherty, of Clinton and former-
ly of Derry City, Northern Ireland, died in
her residence on August 13. She was 77 years
old.
Mrs. Doherty was born in Derry City on
October 29, 1909 to the late John Leo and
Mary Ann (Barr) McCauley. She married
Dominic Doherty in St. Colilmb's Church,
Waterside, in Derry City.
Mr. and Mrs. Doherty remained as
residence in Derry City for a great part of
their life, but they also lived in Australia for
six months where one of their sons, John,
lives. From there they came to Canada
where they lived for awhile before deciding
to return to Derry City.
After sometime there, they decided to
return to Canada, moving to Clinton where
they have resided for approximately 15
years.
Mrs. Doherty was .a member of St.
Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Clinton
and a member of the Catholic Women's
League. She was also a housekeeper at the
Manse during the time of Reverend Hardy.
Mrs. Doherty is survived by her husband
and children: Ansberth and Eugene Bradley
of Clinton; Mary and Paddy Barr of Derry
City, Northern Ireland; Una and John
Doherty of Port Credit; Agnes Doherty of
Clinton; Sally and Geoff Meakin of
Mississauga; Nuala and Malcolm Smith of
Pickering; Breidge and Donald Lutes of
Peterborough; Seamus and Betty Doherty
of Clinton; John and Joy Doherty of Perth,
Australia; Dominic and Mandy Doherty of
London; Manus and Ena Doherty of Port
Credit and Michael and Ann Doherty of
Toronto. Also survived by 39 grandchildren
and 15 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Doherty is survived by one sister,
Bridie McCauley of Northern Ireland, and
three brothers, Philip and Michael Mc-
Cauley of Northern Ireland and Seamus Mc-
Cauley of Scotland.
She was predeceased by one one sister,
Nellie, and two brothers, William and Leo
McCauley.
Prayers by the 4th Degree Knights of Col-
umbus were held at Ball and Falconer
Funeral Home on August 14, followed by
parish prayers.
A funeral service was held on August 15 at
St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church with
Rev. John Pluta officiating and Rev. John
Hardy assisting. Soloist was her son,
Seamus Doherty. An honor guard of the
Knights of Columbus escorted the casket in-
to the church.
Pallbearers were sons Seamus Doherty,
Dominic Doherty, Manus Doherty, Michael
Doherty and grandsons Eugene Bradley,
Sean Doherty, Liam Doherty and Michael
Meakin.
Interment in Derry City Cemetery where
a graveside service will take place.
Ross -York
McMaster University Divinity Chapel was
the setting for the marriage of Dr. Lorraine
York, daughter of Reginald and Margaret
York of Bayfield, and Dr. Michael Ross, son
of Minnie Ross of Southfield, Michicgan, on
May 23. The maid of honor was Gillian Mid-
dleton and Nicole Frank, Carrie Homenuck
and Demist Thody, nieces of the bride, were
bridesmaids. Dr. Alwyn Berland, colleague
of the groom, was the best man and John
Frank Jr., Don Thody and S.J. York,
nephews of the bride, were the ushers. The
reception was held at the Royal Connaught
Hotel. The bride is professor of Canadian
Literature at McGill University, Montreal,
and the grow is the Professor of Modern
British Literature at McMaster University,
Hamilton.

GARRETT of Clinton died on Sunday,
August 16, 1987. Funeral service will
be held at the funeral home on
Wednesday, August 19, 1987 at 2
o'clock.
MRS. MARY ANNE DOHERTY of
Clinton and formerly of Derry City,
Northern Ireland died on Thursday
August 13, 1987. Funeral mass was
held at St. Joseph's Church, Clinton
on Saturday, August 15, 1987.
Nancy Taylor
Nancy Taylor, daughter of Jean and Arnold
Taylor, graduated from Fanshawe College's
two year Medical Secretary program with
honors on June 18. Presently, Nancy is
working for Dr. Dawkins in London. She is
the granddaughter of Mr. and Mrs. Robert
M. Scott of Seaforth and Victor Taylor of
Clinton.
Barbara Yonig
Barbara Young, daughterpf Barry and Bet-
ty Young of Clinton, graluated from The
Mack Centre of Nursing, Nagara College of
Applied Arts and Technology. She received
her diploma in Registered Nursing at con-
vocation on June 13. Barbara is presently
working at the Louise Marslall Hospital in
Mount Forest.
