Welch, daughter of Allan and Glenna Welch of Clinton, and Darrell Lynn Postill, son of Garth and Pat Postill of Clinton, were married on July 25 in Ontario United Street Church by Rev. David Woodall. Maid of honor was Christine Welch of Clinton. sister of the bride, and bridesmaids were Wendy Welch of Strat- ford, sister of the bride, Heather Moffatt of Kippen, Allison Postill of Clinton, sister of the groom and Vicki Sutherland of Strat- ford. Flower girls were Karen Dalgleish and . Melissa Welch, niece of the bride. Jessie Butler of London, nephew of the bride, was the ringbearer. The bestman was Tony Gib- bings of Niagra Falls and the ushers were Travis Postill of Clinton, brother of the groom, Steve Paterson of Stratford, Mike Wilson of Clinton and Gary Bolger of Londesboro. Following a reception at the Clinton Community Centre, the couple honeymooned in the United States and at their aunt and uncle's cottage in Peter- borough. The couple plan to reside at RR1 Varna. I Frank Philips photo) 0 Colclough - Evans On June 12 Eileen Evans, daughter of Ethel and Harry Evans of Grand Falls New- foundland and Stephen Colclough, son. of David and Laverne Colclough of London were married at Lake Street Armoury Of- ficers' Mess, St. Catharines. The bride's matron of honor was Maria Karsman of Shil'o Manitoba and the best man was Derek Divok, St. Catharines. After a honeymoon in Florida, Steve and Eileen will reside in St. Catharines where Stephen is stationed as a Sargeant in the Canadian Forces. Yanchus-Holmes Mary Holmes, daughter of Jack and Nancy Holmes of Clinton, and Jeff Yanchus, son of Joe and Caroline Yanchus of Guelph, were married on June 20 in Ontario Street United Church, Clinton. Maid of honor was Nancy Sullivan of Burlington and bridesmaid was Margie Holmes of Clinton, sister of the bride. Bestman was David Hobson of Guelph and the usher was Mark Yanchus, also of Guelph, brother of the groom. Following the ceremony, a reception was held at the Kildonan Inn, Clinton. Kettlewell CLINTON — With the return from vaca- tion of the Reverend Gregory Gilson, Sun- day services of worship were resumed at St. Paul's Anglican Church, Clinton on August 'l'hc Gilson family , (:reg, Eva, Michael and Courtney enjoyed a wonderful month of sunshine, swimming, golf and relaxation at Lake Simcoe. Among the visitors welcomed at the ser- vice on Sunday at St. Paul's were Helen Car- diff and Isabel Alcock of Brussels. A warm applause was given when it was announced that Mr. and Mrs. ()liver William Alexander ;Mackenzie of 1.eantington, Ontario, were visiting in Clinton to celebrate their 40th wedding anniversary. On :August 2, 1947 the Mackenzies were married at St. Paul's with the Reverend John R. Thompson officiating at the ceremny. Oliver Mackenzie was with the RCAF dur- ing the war, based at Vanastra where he served as radio technician. Many members of St. Paul's enjoyed reminiscing with the Mackenzie's, recalling experiences while' stationed at Vanastra uuring we iy3us. Mr. Gilson concluded the service with a reminder that for the next six months, church services at St,Paul's will be held at 11:30 a.nt. Former school teacher dies at age of 83 Anna Margaret MacKenzie of Inverhurou, a former secondary school teacher in Clin- ton, died July 25 in Kincardine General Hospital after a lengthy illness. She was 83 years old. Born in Kincardine Township on March 30, 1904 the daughter of John L. She was predeceased by one brother, Lovell, and one sister, .Ivan. After 13 years of teaching she retired in 1967 to become actively involved in the Bruce County Historical Society.
