Bezzo, o , Clinton, died in Clinton Public Hospital o June 28. She was 86 years old. Mrs. Bezzo w s married to the late William C. Bez o and is the mother of William and oris Bezzo of Stratford, Douglas and orothy Bezzo of Clinton, Wilfred of Clinton, Fred and Heide Bezzo of Surrey, B.C., Edward and Margaret Bezzo of Clinton, Evelyn and Robert Cook and Ada and Stephen Cook, all of St. Thomas. She is also survived by many grandchildren and great grandchildren. Mrs. Bezzo was predeceased by one daughter, Myrtle. She is survived by sisters, Violet Johnson and Mabel Howald of St. Thomas and one brother, David Mathers of Sparta. Mrs. Bezzo was predeceased by two brothers, Tom and Edward Mathers. A funeral service and committal service was held on June 30 at Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton. Rev. William Barber officiated. Interment in Clinton Cemetery. Maureen Isobel Hayter Maureen Isobel Hayter, of Varna, died in Clinton Public Hospital on July 2. She was 66 years old. Mrs. Hayter was born on April 24, 1921 in Hullett Township to the late William Calvin and Edith May ( Harvey) Lovett. On December 28, 1943, she married Harvey Hayter in the Londesboro Manse. After their marriage, the Hayters lkived in the Varna area all of their life, moving to their present home in April of 1948 where they farmed. Mrs. Hayter was a member of Varna United Church, a life member of their UCW and a member of the Royal Canadian Legion Ladies Auxiliary Branch 140 Clinton. She is survived by her husband, one daughter, Joyce and her husband Douglas McBeath of Zurich as well as two grand- children, Kelli and Glenn McBeath. Mrs. Hayter is also survived by three brothers, Ross Lovett of Clinton, Murray of Toronto and Barry of Ottawa. '- Funeral and committal service was held on July 4 at Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. Samuel Parker officiating. Internaent in Baird's Cemetery, Stanley Township. Amos J. Osbaldeston Amos J. Osbaldeston, of Goderich, died in Alexander Marine and General Hospital, Goderich, on July 1. He was 84 years old. Mr. Osbaldeston was born in Redland, California on October 9, 1902 to Aubrey and Adelaide (Ferguson) Osbaldeston. On June 2, 1934 he married the former Elva May Smith in Clinton. Mr. Osbaldeston farmed in Goderich Township as well as being in construction and maintenance work. He was also a member of Victoria Street United Church, Goderich, a past noble grand of Huron Lodge 62 IOOF Goderich and a past district deputy of the IOOF Lodge. Mr. Osbaldeston is survived by one son, Ronald of Paisley, three granddaughters and two grandsons. He was predeceased by his parents, his wife on March 6, 1987, and three brothers, Alex, Walter and George. An IOOF memorial service was held on SUMMER WEDDINGS Smith -East Sharon Louise East, daughter of Murray and Gladys East, Clinton, and William Scott Smith, son of Gerald Smith and Kay Hurak, Sarnia, were married on June 13 in Ontario Street ('hurch. Rev. David Woodall of Clin- ton and Rev. Norman Pick of Waterloo con- ducted the ceremony. Anne Elliott of Blyth "was the maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Vickie Cantelon of Oakville, Virginia Papps of Sarnia and Victoria Wayne of Sar- nia. The best man was Rick Smith, brother of the groom, from Toronto. The guests were ushered in by Gary Mandarin, Sar- nia; Paul Massey, Sarnia, and Leslie Oet- ting, Sarnia. Neices of the bride Patricia and Nancy Schropshall, Petawawa, along with Tamara and Milan Collins, Sarnia, were the flowergirls. Corey Collins, a nephew of the bride from Sarnia was the ringbearer. The wedding teception was held at. the Clinton Legion, after which the newlyweds left for Niagara Falls. The bridal couple will reside in Sarnia. DeCorte-Pennings Elaine Jean Pennings, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Harry Pennings, Zurich, and Kenneth John DeCorte, son of Mr. and Mrs. Cor DeCorte, Seaforth, were married July 4 in St. Boniface Roman Catholic Church in Zurich. Father P. Moosey conducted the service. Linda Mommersteeg, Bayfield, was the maid of honor, and the bridesmaids were Rita Kinnedy, Lambeth, sister of the bride; Jennifer Wood, Toronto and Corinne DeCorte, Seaforth, sister of the groom. The best man was Bert Middegaal, Londesboro, and the ushers were Martin DeCorte, Waterloo, brother of the groom; Gerry Pen- ning, Zurich, brother of the bride and Steve Jansen, Seaforth. The reception was held at the Stanley Township Complex. The bridal couple will reside in Seaforth. Funeral service will be held in the chapel on Wednesday, July 8, 1987 al 2 P.M. MR. GERALD BROWN of Clinton died on Sunday. July 5, 1987. Funeral mass will be held at St. Joseph's Roman Catholic Church, Clinton on Wednesday, July 8, 1987 at 11 A.M. MRS, MAIJREEN HAYTER of Varna died on Thursday, July 2, 1987. Funeral service was held on Satur- day, July 4, 1987. MRS. ELIZABETH (BETTY) SMITH of Varna died on Tuesday, June 30, 1987. Funeral service was held on Friday, July 3, 1987. July 2 and a funeral service was held on July 3 at Beattie Funeral Home, Clinton, with Rev. David Woodall officiating. Interment in Clinton Cemetery. Elizabeth (Betty) Smith Elizabeth (Betty) Louise Smith, of Varna, died in South Huron Hospital, Exeter, on June 30. She was 57 years old. Mrs. Smith was born on April 7, 1930 in Regina, Saskatchewan to the late Reheny Larson and the former Margaret Parker. On June 11, 1966 she married Stanley Smith at the Clinton Air Base. Following their marriage, the moved to West Germany as Stan was in the service. They returned to Canada in 1970 and had postings at CFB Borden, CFB Winnipeg and CFB North Bay before retiring in 1980. They then moved to Varna. Mrs. Smith is survived by her mother at Rammeloo Rest Home, Blyth, her husband, two daughters, Lea Ann Veysey of Bayfield and Lisa Smith at home. She also has one grandson. Mrs. Smith is also survived by one brother, Clarence Larson of London. She was predeceased by one grandson, Tieg (Tyler) Smith. A funeral service was held on July 3 at Ball and Falconer Funeral Home, Clinton with Rev. George Youmatoff officiating. Flowerbearer was her uncle, William Parker of Bayfield and active pallbearers were Brian Andrey, Douglas Andrey, Bev McClinchey, Keith Pruss, Charles Reid and Glen Smith., Interment in Bayfield Cemetery. Margaret Dupee At the 54th Convocation of the University of Waterloo on May 28, Margaret Eleanor Dupee, youngest daughter of Ken and Dorothy Dupee of Clinton, received her Honors Bachelor of Science Degree In Dance -Kinesiology. Margaret attended Cen- tral Huron Secondary School and St. Joseph's Separate School in Clinton. She has accepted a position with Premier Industrial Corporation and Is presently working in Hamilton. ela 14, Bill and Doris Humphrey of Lucknow travel far and wide to take in community suppers.
