Twenty -Five Year
Our school has been here 25 years.
It's a nice school to have.
Twenty-five years of serving, caring, and
loving
The teachers are nice,
The classrooms are nice,
God helps the people who made it nice.
It's fun to be in this school.

Twenty -Five Years
This year we are celebrating our 25th an-
niversary. Twenty-five years ago my mom
was in the Grade 8 class. They had 10 people
in her grade along with Grades 7, 6, 5. They
were all in one classroom, because they only
had two classrooms. I would say that it
would be pretty crowded. Now I hope
everybody will have a good year.

CLINTON - Twenty-five years in educa-
tion were celebrated here on the weekend
when students, teachers, parents and alum-
ni joined together in honor of the Clinton and
District Christian School ( CDCS ).
The milestone was celebrated with three
days of festivities that included an official
opening ceremony, Grade 8 graduation,
open house, supper, an entertainment pro-
gram and Sunday church service.
'Hundreds of people joined in the events.
The Saturday evening supper saw more
than 500 people attend. It was followed by an
evening of .entertainment, presented by
alumni members. The CDCS gymnasium
was filled to capacity for the event.
The Saturday afternoon official honors
were given to the school when Clinton
Mayor John Balfour, MP Murray Cardiff
and MPP Jack Riddell were on hand to offer
congratulatory messages. Also present
were representatives from the Ontario
Association of Christian Schools and, Dr.
Mike Ruiter, Executive Director of Chris-
tian Schools International.
In his address to the crowd, Dr. Ruiter
noted, "We as Christians must seek out the
best training for bur children and seek out
the best teachers."
He further said, "We send our kids to
these schools because we love them so
much. We want to give them the best educa-
tion, a Christian education."
He said that there is a great challenge to
keep Christ preeminent in our children's
lives. Apathy is the greatest obstacle to
overcome, he suggested.
Dr. Ruiter said that while public schools
are "man centered", Christian school -

teach both academic subjects, as well as
teachings about ethical standards, morals
and a good lifestyle.
CDCS Chairman of the Board Cecil
Bruinsrna further addressed 1)r. Ruiter's
remarks. Le said that the aim of ('DCS is to
provide biblically based education. He noted
that while the school has seen many changes
in the past 25 years, the Bible, and the
word of God was, is and must remain the
Central point of education in this school."
The Clinton and District Christian School
was established in 1962. That September a
two -room school opened with an enrolment
.of 54 children. Today the school has grown
in size. The full service facility now features

At the afternoon ceremonies, MPP Jack
Riddell told the audience, "Considerable
foresight and diligence helped make this
fine institution, ... This is a time to be
thankful for this school, for life and God.
After doing much traveling, I oan tell you
that we have much to be thankful for.
MP Murray Cardiff too congratulated the
school on its achievement. He noted that in
his work with the .federal government he
deals with correctional services and visits
many prisons. He suggested, "There would
be fewer people in jail today if we had
greater emphasis on universally Christian
emphasized programs like that of the
CDCS."
