Frolic at the ,fair
While the ladies and some gentlemen were in the arena taking in the fashion show on
Saturday night, many were out in the grandstand watching the All Terrain Vehicle races.
Spectators at the races were treated to many thrills, such as this rider taking to the air in
the second straight-away.
The Clinton Spring Fair couldn't really be called a fair without the showing and judging
of livestock taking place. Ken Empey, right, was the judge for the Huron County Holstein
Club Show, and here he walks around the showperson and her livestock, inspecting both.

The exhibits in the homemaking division were judged early in the fair, on Friday after-
noon. Examining this lifelike duck sculpture was one of the judges of the arts and crafts
competition, Anita Vanderhaar.
The Clinton Arena was the place for the
fashion conscious to he on Saturday night as
five local clothing stores displayed their
wares in a fashion show. Here, Kelly Liv-
ingstone of Exeter displays a beautiful outfit
from Creative Lady in Exeter. Other stores
that took part in the show were Webster's
Clothing and Footwear of Blyth, the Old
Mill. one mile south of Blyth, Jacqueline's of
Exeter and Samantha's of Goderich.
With a look of concentration on his face, three -and -a -half year old Gregory Smith of
Goderich let loose with a left handed throw in the hope of winning a goldfish in one of the
many games available at the fair's midway.

Aside from the games and rides on the midway, there was some free entertainment for
the children at the fair; the tractor pull. Jason Fear of Brussels gave it his all with some
encouragement from the judges, Paul (left) and Roy Wheeler.
The baby show, held on Saturday afternoon, was a big attraction to
parents with toddlers as 18 babies were entered in one category
alone. Eventually, however, some winners were chosen and they
included i left to right); twin winners, Christine and Katie,
daughters of Laura and Ken Mcl.end of Brigden; nine to 12 month
winner, Heather, daughter of Ronnie and Louis Mustone of New
Hampshire, visiting Bonnie's father Bill Riehl in Clinton; four to
eight month winner, Meghan, daughter of Michelle and Bill Whitely
of Goderich; overall winner, Brittany, daughter of Sharon and Ran-
dy Wood of Seaforth.
