Needleworkers see ,fashion show
HOLMESVILLE - "Many hands make
light work," an old but true saying, helps to
sum up the last minute preparation for the
monthly meeting of the Bluewater Creative
Needle Club held on May 26 at the Goderich
Township Hall. The "many hands" included
Anne Gornall, Ina Fisher, Marie Collins,
Eileen Staddon, Bev Van Ninhurp, Marie
and Margaret Brand.
Club members received their blue name
tags embroidered by registrar Anne Gor-
nall, a labor of love, much appreciated.

celebrated in St. James' Middleton Anglican
Church with Rev. Aubrey Bell officiating.
Flowers in the church in memory of Harold

A fashion show was the featured item of
the evening of ladies clothing made and
presented by Diane Litowski and Jean
Johnston of Stretch 'N Sew London.
Each outfit was modelled by its' owner
and described as to the suitability of the pat-
tern style, fit, the color choice of the fabrics,
and the adaptibility of mixing tops, slacks,
shorts, skirts jackets tp create different
looks.
Different sewing hints and easy methods
of construction were also pointed out.

The capacity crowd of ladies enjoyed the
show and thanked them enthusiastically.
Norma Crawford, owner of Norrna's Sew-
ing Centre of Goderich, was introduced as
the fifth local fabric business to offer dis-
count prices to club members. The others
are Exeter Polka Dot; Mary's Sewing Cen-
tre, Clinton; Seaforth Sewing Centre and
Vanastra Factory Outlet.
Calendars of upcoming planned classes
were available from Mary's Sewing Centre,
Clinton and Millers Barn, Russeldale.
Audrey Middleton, president, discussed
with the members topics for future club
meetings. Already established is June's
topic - scarf tying and rug hooking.
The August meeting will feature the club's
own craft show plus presentation from
Lewis Craft, London.
A yard sale of sewers' delights will be held
late summer at Don and Audrey Middletons,
Whitehall farm, the tentative date August
29.
Other guests are being arranged for the
fall ie. wardrobe planning, dress form mak-
ing, courses in clutter I a hilariously fun
night 1.

Holmesville to celebrate Holy Communion

HOLMESVILLE - Worship service was
held in Holmesville United Church Sunday
morning with Rev. James Bechtel of-
ficiating. Scott Park and Tom Lobb received
the offering.
Next Sunday, in Holmesville United
Church, Holy Communion will be
celebrated. _
The UCW of Holmesville United Church
will meet June 9.
Correction: Last week it read adults for
the ham supper were $3.00. The ham salad
supper will be held June 4 in Holmesville
United Church - Adults $7 and children $2.50.
The congregation of Holmesville were
saddened to hear that one of their former
ministers, 1)r. Mowat, passed away in April
in British Columbia.
The Enterprising Seniors go to Huronview
