The Festival's production of Another Season's Promise, co -written by Anne Chislett and Keith Roulston, will be at the Citadel Theatre in Edmonton for four weeks in the fall as part of the Citadel's regular subscription series. Promise, workshopped and premiered at the Blyth Festival in 1986, will be the final production of the Blyth Festival's current season, and then heads ELM HAVEN HOTEL Clinton Hwy. 8 West, Clinton LADIES' NIGHT THURSDAY, MAY 21 MALE DANCER FRIDAY AND SATURDAY All your Favorite Music NEW Reasonable Rates WANTED SCOTCHMER ROUND -UP Bayfield Community Centre - July 25 ALL DESCENDENTS OF ALFRED SCOTCHMER AND ELEANOR WATSON Catered BBQ - Sports Day for Children CONTACT Cathy Beatty 565.2169 Vera Mc4raVVIttin 565-2757 Bayfield ®O®O 111 Happy 80th Birthday Dad ' o Love from your family 1 he t,1n)II 411 1 rank \1(( Ilnl 111• un 114 y(x) 14) ,14) ( )pen 1-14n1'-4. 4) 1)4)4)4.4414 Ot his tiOth hirth(i,n, .1t (,i)shen 1 rllt('cl ( Fair( h 4.441 ,,unday \t,.4\,. 2 1th 2 ") p 4)1 1 e1 your I)44)),en4 4' 1)4• lus l;ltt 1 O 01 11:1®04 RETIREMENT PA RT Y for Mr. James Chapman Principal of Exeter Public School SATURDAY, MAY 30 Concert 2:30 p.rn. at S.H.D.H.S. The Promise tour starts in southern On- tario in mid-September and includes many now -familiar stops such as Waterloo, Durham, Fergus, Chatham, and Petrolia, plus new venues ( Belleville, St. Catharines, Markham) which have been added to the route. The tour then moves through nor- thern Ontario where an engagement in Sault Ste. Marie is confirmed and other venues are under consideration. "This is a way for us to share our suc- cesses with the rest of the country" said Ar- tistic Director Katherine Kaszas, "and it is a reflection of the high regard in which the Blyth Festival is held by theatres and au- diences alike from coast to coast. We have built a reputation for excellence over the years and people are responding to that reputation by bringing in our tours, and by producing our plays." This tour marks the first time the Blyth Festival has toured a production into western Canada although other plays developed here have received performances in Calgary, Winnipeg, and throughout Manitoba. For example, Garrison's Garage - a big success in Blyth in 1984 and 1985 - was produced by the Marini:4 a Theatre Centre in early 1986-, fle diictiah;:directed tfy Katherine Kaszas, toured to over 60 com- munities in Manitoba. Another Season's Promise opens at the Blyth Festival on August 25 and plays through to September 12, before starting on the tour.
