to visit
Clinton
Murray Cardiff, MP has announced that
His Excellency Jan Frederick Breman, Am-
bassador for the Nertherlands, and Mrs.
Breman will be visiting the Town of Clinton
to participate in the Dutch festival,
Klompen Feest on May 16.
Ambassador and Mrs. Breman will par-
ticipate in the parade at 11 a.m. and the
opening ceremonies at 1 p.m. together with
the 55 member Central Band of the Cana-
dian Armed Forces.

Bruce and att d the Klompen Feest," said
Mr. Cardiff.
The Central Band of the Canadian Armed
Forces has been welcomed all over the
world by school children and Heads of State.
They are famous for their variety in musical
entertainment.

Artists are well educated
In general, Canadian artists are well
educated. According to Statistics Canada's
1981 Census, 18 per cent of painters,
sculptors and other artists. 40 per rent of
writers and 28 per dent of actors and ac-
tresses were university graduates, com-
pared with 11 per cent of the total labor
force.

Kite flying
contest
on May 11
CLINTON - Once again this year, the Clin-
ton Klompen Feest will be holding a kite fly-
ing contest.
The contest is scheduled for May 11 at
10:30 a.m. in the Clinton Community Park.
If it rains, the dates will be either May 12 or
13. .
Participants this year will include four
students from Clinton Public School, three
students from Clinton and District Christian
School and three from St. Joseph's Separate
School.
Grades 1 to 3 will have the opportunity to
use both commercial and homemade kites
while those in Grades 4 to 8 can use
homemade kites only.
In each division, the first place winner
will receive $7, second place, $6, third place
$5, fourth place $4 and fifth place $3.

Clinton Town Hall as part of the 1987-88 Arts
Committee's Entertainment Series.
The Series begins with a second perfor-
mance by the Clinton Corrununity Players.
Floyd Herman, Bernie Pugh and Dianne
Stevenson will star in Neil Simon's "You
Ought to Be In Pictures", a touching and
funny story of the relationship between a
father and daughter. Directed by Steve
Oliver, this event will feature a cabaret -
style production. Buy the series, and be
assured of a seat for this June 25-26-27 play.
The Vancouver Wind Trio will provide a
versatile evening November 21 of jazz, pop
and classical music playing a wide variety
of wind instrument with mastery and
humour.
GRAND BEND - The Huron Country
Playhouse has announced that the Wintario
Draw will be held on June 4, live at the
Theatre.
Doors will open at 6:30 p.m. and the au-
dience will be treated to one hour's worth of
entertainment provided by area high
schools.
The Master of Ceremonies for the evening
will be actress and past artistic director for
the Playhouse, Aileen Taylor -Smith.
The actual draw will be televised at 8 p.m.
and include a 60 second spot focusing on
Huron County and some of its unique
features.
A $3 ticket price will include one Wintario
ticket to be distributed at the door, eligible
for the evening's draw.
January 29 Just in Time Theatre, from
Halifax will present an evening of drama,
song, mime and improvisation. You name it
- they can do it!
' To conclude the series, on March 26 Ken
Brown will don his skates, cover the stage
with a special surface f notice) and present
his one-man comedy called Life After
Hockey
The Arts Committee has tried to provide a
well-balanced variety of music and drama,
both local and professional, and all with a
generous sprinkling of humor for this se-
cond Entertainment Series. Join the many
who support the Arts Committee efforts. En-
joy great entertainment - right here in Clin-
ton! Tickets, $25, are available at the town
hall.
