HomeMy WebLinkAboutClinton News-Record, 1987-04-29, Page 77Page 48 Ukele players to make debut A brand new act, with a new group of performers will take to the stage on May 15 at 7:15 p.m. The recently formed Ukulele Band from Brookside School will feature approximately 25 Grade 7 and 8 students who will be under the direction of music teacher, Bonnie Jewitt. "This will be their first big performance," said Mrs. Jewitt. The group has been practis- ing with their instrument since December, but have put more time and effort into the songs they will perform at Klompen Feest during the last few weeks. The students will play novel- ty music on their ukuleles. Since this is their first ever performance, come out to the arena and give them all the en- couragement you can. London magician dazzles alike adults Now you see it, now you don't! Be sure to get a good night's rest so your eyes can get the full benefit of Paul French's magician show on May 16. Mr. French, assisted by his daughter Paula, will dazzle the audience with ropes, bottle and glass tricks as well as a scarf and children trick or two. And, like all magician's the best magic will be saved until the end of the show. According to the mysterious Mr. French, this will be a large metamor- phose elusion.
