Kuipers came to stay together
Alice and Case Kuiper have loved Canada since they first arrived.
The pair left The Hague, Holland, because their oldest son had come
to Canada and they wanted to keep the family together.
By Anne Narejko
There are many reasons why
people left Holland and made
their way to Canada. Some
wanted a change, some wanted
to see what the country had to
offer and others wanted to start
a new life.
Although these are all very
valid reasons for leaving one's
homeland, none of them apply
to Case and Alice Kuiper. They
came so they could keep their
family together and they
haven't regretted their decision
for one moment .
"Our oldest son, Peter, said,
'Mom and dad, I'd like to go to
Canada.' We told him he should
stay here (Holland) . Then half
a year later he came and asked
again. He had a good job but he
wasn't making much money so
we said he could go," explained
Mrs. Kuiper.
