(David Emslie photo) Local bowlers winding down their seasons Wednesday Night YBC Team 1 Team 2 Team 3 Team 4 Team 5 Team 6 Team 6 was announced as the playoff champs following April 22 bowling. During this session Patti Maguire was the top bowler for the senior ladies with the high single of 226 and the high triple at 522. Steve Verhoef had the high single for the men with 214 while Wayne Dunsmore had the high tri- ple at 563. For the junior ladies, Loisanne Lostell had the high single with 212 and Col- leen McAdam had the high triple of 561. Steve Lostell had the high single for the men at 211 and Doug Maguire had the high triple with 503. Wednesday Night Mixed The Wednesday Night Mixed bowling 7,218 7,625 7,272 7,357 7,029 7.901 league held their banquet on April 8 at the Blue Fountain. Following the meal everyone returned to the bowling alley where the awards were given out. Mission Impossible received their awards for being season's champs. On that team are Brad Atkinson, Verne Sawyer, Bob Hart, Lillian Patterson, Dorothy Airdrie and Ruth Ann McIntosh. Mission Impossible was also the B Division playoff champs. The Little Rascals, made up of Karen Pounder, Jean Good, Jim Collins, Kevin Essex, Julie Gibbings and Shelley Diceman, were the A Division playoff champs. The individual ladies trophy winners were: Dorothy Airdrie, high average, 193; Jean Good, high triple, 709; Helen Lobb, high single, 292; Shelley Diceman, most im- proved, plus 13; Elizabeth Foster, skunk, minus 16. In the men's catergory the trophy winners were: Steve Gibbings, high average, 212; Bill Gibbings, high triple, 761: Larry Gibb- ings, high single, 323; Bob Hart, most im- proved, plus 10; Ron Walker, skunk, minus 8. Gifts of appreciation were given to the ex- ecutive with Joe Atkinson as president, John Hart as vice-president, Lis McIntosh as treasurer and Steve Gibbings as secretary. The executive remains the same for next year. Perfect attendance awards, provided by Clinton Crown Lanes, were given to Bob Atkinson, John Smith, Heather Hart, Laura Colquhoun, Steve Gibbings, Liz McIntosh, Jean Good, Jim Collins, Kevin Essex, Julie Gibbings, Shelley Diceman, Larry Gibb- ings, Flo Cartwright, Donna Collins, Joe Atkinson, Deb Bailey, , Mark Strickland, John Hart, Ted Fear, Wayne Matzold, Edna Atkinson, Bob Hart, Dorothy Airdrie, Lillian Patterson, Helen Lobb and Candace Elliott. CLINTON NEWS -RECORD, WEDNESDAY, APRIL 29, 1987—Page 13, Local athletes compete in London A small contingent of the Central Huron' Secondary School (CHSS) track and field team took part for the first time in the Forest City Prep Invitational held in London on April 25. This is the 10th running of the event and some 67 schools from all' over Western On- tario were in attendance with over 1,400 competitors taking part and as many as 80 competitors in many of the events. Central Huron's competitors did a fine job considering the level of competition. The most outstanding performance for the Redmen was turned in by Vivienne Stephens who became the first female in the history of Central Huron to break the 13 second bar- rier in the 100 meter, running a 12.9 second clocking and finishing third out of 82 com- petitors in the midget girls event. Vivienne followed up that performance by setting a new school record as well in the 200 meter event with a very good 26.4 second clocking and second place in that event. Derek Bradshaw also had a very good day finishing third in the midget boys 800 meter with a good time of 2 minutes, 14 seconds. Derek also set a new school record of 56.6 seconds in the midget 400 meter finishing first in his heat. Ming Lee set a new school record in the Senior 1500 meter finishing eighth in his event with a time of 4 minutes, 25.8 seconds. Other top ten performances included Lisa Beattie with a fifth in the midget girls high jump with a 1.45 meter effort and Mike Cor- rie a sixth in the midget boys event with a 1.65 meter effort. Good performances were also turned in by Steven Souch in the junior 1500 meter with a 4 minute, 31 second time and a 17th place finish. Steve also placed 12th with a 2 minute, 9.5 second time in the 800 meter. Lisa Beattie was 13th in the 100 meter with a 13.7 second, clocking and 12th in the long jump with a 4.04 meter effort. Susan Govenlock ran a very good 400 meter event with a time of 65.6 seconds a personal best. Steve Hearn had a 12.1 clocking in the 100 meter and a 24.5 time in the 200 meter. Steve Dolmage produced a 4.88 meter jump in the long jump to finish in the top 20 in that event. Congratulations to all the competitors for fine efforts on a cold and fairly windy day.
