STANLEY TOWNSHIP • The township
ended 1986 with a surplus of $328 on a total
actual budget of $1,814,643.
Clerk -treasurer Mel Graham didn't know
whether to attribute the surplus to good luck
or good budgeting, but said the township did
not want a deficit, as there is no reserve
fund. That was used up in the building and
equipping of the Stanley Complex. A final
payment of $90,000 has cleared all debt on
the complex./
The 1987 budget will be presented at the
second regular April council meeting.
Graham predicts an overall increase of bet-
ween five -and -one-half and six per cert.
Stanley Sesquicentennial co-ordinators,
Gord Hill and Phil Durand, attended the
first regular April meeting of council to sub-
mit a final report on the 150th birthday
celebration last year. All minutes of the
steering cornrnittee and the sub -committees
and the final report will be put in a binder
and placed in the township vault for future
historians.
The $5,062.95 donated by the Sesquicenten-
nial Committee to the township for recrea-
tion purposes will be used to purchase
playground equipment.

class:
The Eggs Are Missing
One night on Easter night the Easter bun-
ny hid the eggs really well. He hid the eggs
in the basement. The•rlext day they looked
all over but the girls and the boys gave up.
One of the girls and one of the boys looked
in the basement. They told the girls and
boys that the eggs were there so they had
two.

They Exaggerating Bunny
Once upon a time there was a bunny. He
was the Easter bunny. He went in the barn.
The eggs were gone. He saw one egg. That
meant that there was going to be no Easter.
He was exaggerating. There really were
