Stonehouse BELGRAVE - Sunrise service in Knox United Church was prepared and presented by the UCW. This was followed by a breakfast which served approximately 50 people. The United church was filled to capacity for the Easter Sunday service. Easter music was played by Mrs. George Procter organist and Mrs. Les Shaw at the piano. Both the junior and senior choirs sang Easter anthems. Mr. and Mrs. Gary Leitch, Julie and Jeff of Waterdown spent the Easter weekend with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby. Mr. and Mrs. George Johnston, Tara and Erin of Ilderton were Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby and Mrs. Laura Johnston. Olive Bolt visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. John Stokes of RR 1 Wroxeter. Also visiting at the same home were Mr. and Mrs. Elwood Fitch, Jason and Jeremy of RR 1 Wroxeter. Mrs. Howard Zettler, Sherry, Amanda • and Alicia visited on Monday with her mother, Elizabeth Procter. Vera Gateman of Hanover; Michael McIntosh of Brampton; friends of the fami- ly, Travis Koehler and Cathy Marks were Sunday visitors at the home of Mr. and Mrs. John McIntosh. Mr. and Mrs. Arnold Mathers; Suzanne Mathers and Brian Horner of Exeter; Mr. and Mrs. Jim Gaunt of Arva and Mr. and Mrs. Ross Elliott, Jacqui and Callida of Lon- don were Easter Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Melville Mathers. On Saturday evening Marjorie Procter and Philip Stopforth of London visited with friends at a class reunion at the Wingham Gold and Curling Club. They also spent the weekend with her mother, Elizabeth Procter. Elizabeth Procte , Marjorie Procter and Philip Stopforth visited on Sunday with Mr. and Mrs. Howard Zettler, Sherry, Amanda and Alicia of RR 4 Walkerton. Mr. and Mrs. Douglas Ralph, Michael and Richard of Milton were Easter Sunday visitors with her brother-in-law and sister Mr. and Mrs. Tom Black. Mrs. William Black visited on Sunday with her daughter, Joan Riley and grand- daughter Jodie of Dungannon. Mr. and Mrs. Vincent Makas and Alicia of London were weekend visitors at the home of Mabel Wheeler. Mrs. Walter Scott returned home on Sun- day after spending a few days with Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scott and family of Sebringville. Easter Sunday visitors with Mr. and Mrs. Glenn Coultes and family were Mr. and Mrs. Alan Scott and family of Sebringville and Mrs. Walter Scott. Meribeth Scott of London spent Easter weekend with her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Murray Scott and Jeffrey. Mr. and Mrs. Rick Ball, Matthew and Alicia of Hanover, Mr. and Mrs. Rob Roy and Christina of Lakefield, Mr. and Mrs. Richard Anderson of Goderich, Sheila Anderson of Waterloo visited on the weekend with their parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ross Anderson. Mr. and Mrs. Glen Nixon and Tyler of Cambridge visited. with Belgrave relatives on Easter weekend. The Rev. John Gratton Roberts was the honored guest conductor of the choir and congregation at the Good Friday Gymanfa held annually in the Melrose Street United Church in Toronto. The service of Welsh hymns was conducted in both Welsh and English language. Those attending from Belgrave were: Rev. and Mrs. John Roberts, Mr. and Mrs. Harold Vincent, Mr. and Mrs. Robert Grasby, Mrs. John McIn- tosh, Mrs. Jim Hunter, Mrs. Norman Coultes and Mrs. Lewis Stonehouse. UCW News The Afternoon Unit of the UCW met on April 14 in the school room of the church. Janisa Coultes was in charge due to the absence of the leader, Sara Anderson. After the Call to Worship was given Florence Black read an Easter poem. Mrs. Coultes reported that the general meeting of the UCW will be on May 28 with Mr. and Mrs. Ed Whitney of Sauble Beach as the guest speakers. • Mrs. Olive Campbell reported that 33 cards had been sent for Easter. Jean Pattison opened the Worship with a hymn and the prayer was by Mrs. Helen Martin. Following meditation and prayer Mrs. Pattison lit a candle and read a story. Janisa Coultes used a chapter and study from Wm. Barclay's book, Jesus of Nazareth, for Bible Study. Mrs. Walter Scott had the Mission Study. Auburn welcomes many Easter visitors • from page 7 her two days at the 25th annual London Con- ference UCW meeting on April and .7. She found it both educational and inspiring. Worship was conducted by Mrs. Jake Mid- delkamp, Mrs. Wayne Durnin and Mrs. Marinus Bakker. Their topic was Easter which brings us hope, love, beauty and life. Scriptures were read from Isaich and Luke. Offering was received and "The Old Rugged Cross" was sung. The meditation was on Easter symbols through the years, their origin and their changes. A description of the Hollywood Bowl Rising Service on Easter morning was enjoyed. The Easter baskets for the shut-ins were then made and looked very attractive with their Easter goodies. The meeting closed with delicious hot cross buns and a social half-hour was enjoyed. Knox church service Rev. Gary Shuttleworth conducted the Easter morning service at Knox United Church. Organ and piano prelude was by Mrs. Gordon Gross and Lori Millian. The junior choir sang "Tell The Good News" under the direction of Mrs. Allan Webster and Mrs. Gordon Gross as pianist followed by the prayer of invocation and life and work of the church. "Jesus Christ is Risen Today" was then sung. They then went to Sunday School with their teachers Linda Durnin, Sharon Ramsey and Ruth Anne Bakker. The minister's sermon was entitled "Freedom in Easter". Easter litany of praise was read responsively. The offering was received by Greg Park, Larry Plaetzer, Bob Worsell and Peter Verbeek. Rev. Shut- tleworth pronounced the benediction.
