HiJ TIM S, OOT OBE I 29th, 1403. Stands any Test The most severe judgment of the expert tea taster pronounces' i Blue Ribbon Tea absolutely the best. Why ? It is free from tannin and other bitter substances—no coarse fibrous leaves employed in its making. The taste is pure, rich and creamy—that nameless quality that signifies to the expert and lovers of true tea that it is the best leaves and shoots of the tea plant properly cured. tM 1 Baac1, Mixed Carlon. The General Manager, Mr. James Elliott read the annual report./ o;f' • the directors as follows;— Ceentlemen,—The directors have pleasure in presenting this, the forty- eighth annual report, showing the result of the Bank's business for the year ending 30th Se:•pLetnber, 1.903. The profits, after 'providing for opeeretingexpenses and bad and doubt- ful delete, are p1< J,o92.24. There have been paid two semi-annual dividends, amounting to $235,580- 95-9 per 'cent. for the year. One hundred and fifty thousand dollars has been transferred to the Reserve Fund and V35,908.27 expended in branch buildings, leaving at credit of Profit and 'Loss account $25,755.91. The Reserve fund is new $2,720,778, having grown from $2,250,000 ,.bal- ance last year, by addition of $150,000 from profits, and '$320,778 from,. the premiums paid on new stock (issues of 15th May last, $500,000 at 190), now being paid up by instalments. During the year branches have been opened at Frankford, Highgate and. St. Marys, all in Ontario. With deep regret the Directors record the death 'of Mr. Samuel Finley, tete had been a useful and honoured, member of the Board for thirteen years. Mr. William C. l4Ielntyre has, been called to fill the vacancy. The braaiches, including Montreal, have as usual, been carefully inspeet_ ed. The officers of the Bank have performedt heir duties efficiently and zealously., WM. M. MACPEERSON, President. The success which has attended the o.peratians of the Molson's Bank during the past year reflects the pros perous condition of the country, and the excellent management of the institution itself. The bank has complet- ed its forty-eighth year of operation end during that period it has never had occasion to pass a single dividend, 'having paid to its shareholders 90 di- vidends in 48 years, which speaks 'highly for the careful administration of the Bank's affairs. We may direct special attention 1 s the warning given by the President, who, in his able address, said: "We must view the present and future :with extreme caution. The channels which the increasing loans have gone into are, we apprehend, in many cases surrounded by a speculative e1e',menet other than a bona fide business character." PROFIT AND LOSS ACCOUNT.
