P(; NEWS Nico Peters seeks PC nomination Nico Peters, a 36 year old Tuckersmith Township farmer, has declared his inten- tion to seek the Conservative nomination for the Huron Riding in the next provincial election. Peters says he is aware of the frustra- tions felt throughout the towns and the townships over being bypassed in the economic boom presently enjoyed by most other areas of the province. With the present government's tax in- crease and a one billion dollar unexpected windfall, people here are beginning to question why funds aren't being used to promote the fortunes and long term pro- sperity of our local communities," says Peters. He disagrees with those who say an elec- tion this year would be one without issues. "1 can assure you that a election this year in Huron County will be one that is built on the concerns of our communities." Peters is an active member in several community and agricultural organizations and serves as a vice-president for the Huron P.C. Association. The nomination meeting is scheduled for April 14, 1987, at 8 p.m., at the Central Huron Secondary School in Clinton. More than 500 area Conservatives are expected to attend.
